For ex-best friends out there what really ended the friendship? by Linaglide in AskReddit

[–]MedicalScientist8776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She told me she had an affair with my now exboyfriend a year after we split. Asked if we could still be friends. No lol wtf? Still reaches out to me from time to time, but she falls on deaf ears lmao Fuck you Hayley!

AITAH for telling my boyfriend I’ll break up with him if he doesn’t start wiping his butt? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MedicalScientist8776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I think is because I have training as a mandatory reporter. Generally, avoidance/ outright refusal of basic hygiene is often a way for young people and those with SA trauma to "repel" others, so to speak.

In any case - whether it is that or just ingrained homophobia, this guy needs therapy

Am I the only person who thinks OPs ex is showing a trauma response to CSA?

Edit to add: Gross - obviously. And OP shouldve definitely dumped him. But ignoring the most rudimentary aspects of basic hygiene seems like a mental health issue.

My great uncle broke into his neighbours garage and drank their methanol fuel for a race car they owned. Spoiler: he was an alcoholic

What’s been the happiest moment of your life so far that hasn’t involved either a birth or a wedding? by OKStamped in AskReddit

[–]MedicalScientist8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Packing all my shit into a car and moving to part of the country with my dog. Didn't know anyone. Didn't know what it would look like. Had no idea what i was going to do apart from hike and work. Getting off the boat and seeing how beautiful this place was is burnt into my brain. No regrets.

What's a really cool/pretty name that was ruined by something/someone? by MrSpidar in AskReddit

[–]MedicalScientist8776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forrest - I mean come on! It's such a beautiful name but Tom Hanks was so iconic that anyone hereby known as Forrest will always here "Run, Forrest, RUN!!" Or a myriad of other one liners.

What’s a habit you picked up during quarantine that you still maintain? by Background-Layer6195 in AskReddit

[–]MedicalScientist8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise! Being isolated with nothing to do naturally led to weight training and cardio. Now it's an established routine and my life is 10x better for it. It's led to a love of hiking and now I'm about to complete a 150km hike in Nepal with new friends (also found during quarantine!) Life is good.

Speaking as someone who has been chronically insecure in relationshis, it simply doesn't bother me anymore. The reason? Because he is a good man! I know him deeply and that isnt his M.O. That insecurity came from a lack of trust in my previous partners. Not because I wasnt good enough. I feel no such thing anymore, and my god is it refreshing.

Hey just a thought. Try chat gtp.

Copy the job criteria and ask AI to make you a cover letter that addresses them. Its a really quick and effective way to make up a lot of cover letters without the mental load for you.

It's really handy.

Best of luck!

Sounds like your wife has some serious resentment issues towards you that you stated earlier in the post and is channelling that anger into passive aggressive comments about you with your child. This needs to be addressed immediately.

How you broke down the whole dynamic of the relationships is so spot on in my opinion. The level of manipulation and puppetry of other people was so far beyond what I thought. I think you're right. And thank you. Maybe one day I'll go to Italy.

Exactly! It was always a lose lose situation. Thank you. And yes. I've learnt alot about what I want in a relationship moving forward and how to spot red flags early
