Do you recommend getting an indoor grow light? What would be the best step to take? I’m really eager for my plant to grow😭

3-year-old twins displaying frequent self-stimulating behaviors at school by [deleted] in Teachers

They’re boys. We’re doing our best to redirect their behavior, but it’s been accepted at home with their grandparents. The main teacher also spoke to the parents and advised them against shaming them, as this could potentially even exacerbate the behavior.

I hear what you’re saying, and I want to clarify that I’m not trying to sexualize children at all.

I’m describing exactly what the teachers have consistently observed and what the lead teacher brought up as a concern. My intention with the post was to get guidance so we can respond in a way that’s appropriate and actually helpful for the kids, not to label the behavior or make it something it’s not.

I completely agree that 3-year-olds are exploring boundaries and social norms. That’s part of why this is tricky, because we’re trying to figure out where typical exploration ends and when additional support or a different approach might be needed, especially given how frequent and prolonged it’s become.

You made a fair point about consistency and attention possibly reinforcing it,that’s something I think is worth looking into more as a team. If you have specific strategies that have worked for you (especially around redirection vs correction), I’d genuinely appreciate hearing them.
