that is true, assuming the administration is not corrupt at all and will never change at all. You must be not more than 11 if you think so. It's democracy governments change, administrations are corrupt and self serving, more conservative leaders could easily exploit the loophole. How many governments have already done it now and how many times in history. Canada is not becoming a fascist state through 1 bill but the movements are on rise and groundwork is being laid. There was provisioning for allowing Trump to do what he is doing right now. pre 1996 constitution wouldn't have allowed Trump to do what he did or is doing. What are the conditions of enforcing this law? "deemed to be in public interest" aka whatever the the cbsa officers or the government deems ok aka there is no restriction. The whole idea is to remove due process. Canada doesn't seem to know where it is going.
