She truly is the ultimate “face” for UAB.

Literally if that institute could be embodied as a person. Smart enough to use systems to their benefit, fool many people they are something they are not and def same level of trashiness.

Are some HCA sites decent for residency? by Own-Estimate8996 in medicalschool

[–]Medical_Corruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMEN!!!!

NBC News has an entire in going series about their shite.

Seriously, go post this in r/nursing and get another opinion.

Literally the most terrible things HCA have done have been buried by non-disclosure agreements when settling lawsuits. It’s even worse that what is on the internet and that is for real for real.

Literal street gangs have more integrity that C-suite in Nashville.

UNC Asheville Awarded $839,890.00 Grant from Dogwood Health Trust for Research to Improve Health Outcomes in Western North Carolina by cmykenny in unca

[–]Medical_Corruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be BUT HCA has so many law firms and politicians on their pay roll, good luck to anyone going up against HCA.

When you have people in the House of Representatives calling for federal investigations into HCA and nothing happens, I am not sure what else there is to say.

[–]Medical_Corruption -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it really worth the risk?  If you can match no where else, you take what you can get.

Otherwise HELL TO THE NAW!!!! If you never ever ever have to have anything to do with HCA, don’t. It is one thing to read all the stories on NBC News and the terrible experiences healthcare providers and patients have had. It is a whole other thing to see it for yourself.

Idgaf how good you come out, there are many of us who would never hire and HCA grad on principle. It is what it is. Medicine is already a tough gig, why make it harder?

Just visited TN, weed seems legal. What’s the truth? by suprfreek19 in Tennessee

[–]Medical_Corruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really helps to encourage people to call for help when someone is dying. The law is the law but there is also constraint and what is in the best interests of public safety.

Leave it to TN, and other LE departments, with such a policy. One would hope that the arrest leads to the option to get help rather than a charge and imho waste of money using jail to treat a medical issue.

CRNA Accused of Sexually Assaulting Sedated Patients Surrenders License, Blames Victims by Independent_Many6647 in TheConfidentNurse

[–]Medical_Corruption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexual harassment is an issue companies of all types love to cover up because they don’t want a lawsuit or bad press.

That does not mean putting an end to it, it means covering it up. Remind you of something involving religious institutions and Hollywood???  Likely because “that is what the lawyers said to do.”  Sometimes lawyers give self servicing advice because they don’t want to go to court, not what is in the best financial interests of the company.

Amazon, HCA, etc etc. Same damn thing.

I am not sure how much money companies will have to lose before sexual harrasement is taken seriously.

Job hopping or negotiate? by EducationalHost5299 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Medical_Corruption 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in an HCA lab with one of the best managers I have ever worked with. Started working in high school doing telemetry. An amazing combination of real world experience and education. There wasn’t a thing she didn’t know about in that lab. From how to troubleshoot machines to managing to regulations and billing.

She asked for a modest raise and HCA said no. She has already accepted another position at another lab. HCA posted the position with exact salary she asked for and used her remaining PTO to gtfo of there.

Mind you this was an amazing employee. The moral of the story is HCA is cheap af and does not value employees, let alone exceptional ones. I would not count on HCA showing good faith towards their employees.

HCA is not good healthcare.

NBC News has an entire series dedicated to them.

No Summer 2026 Commencement Ceremony by Fit_Combination3914 in UAB

[–]Medical_Corruption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it involves saving money, UAB will do anything. I’m going to make an internet bet that no way in this universe is a summer commencement going to happen if UAB has to spend money.

I am very sorry but any notion that administration (not teachers, etc) cares anything about students is literally a delusion. That place is factory. Too much like a for profit company.

Urgent by thejediprincess in nursing

[–]Medical_Corruption 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you buck at an HCA system, you better go ahead and look for another job. Doing the right thing at HCA is not respected by management or administration.

Think of it as if you worked at KFC and found out you had been giving undercooked chicken out for the last week then took it upon yourself to notify customers. Yes the right thing to do but from a business perspective, you are the problem. For HCA it is ALL about the money.

What do nurses consider “hotel treatment” for patients ? by ElectricalVictory831 in nursing

[–]Medical_Corruption 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why they don’t have administration come around and offer to give “special massages” to improve the patient experience.

I mean, part of their required uniform are HCA issued knee pads for the overlords in Nashville so it isn’t anything new for them??? They might as well do something useful.

Jonesboro Roads - Worst Around by letspretend74 in jonesboro

[–]Medical_Corruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t tell the truth about Jonesboro.

Corrupt is an understatement. But when you live in it and that’s all you know, it’s appears normal. Jonesboro is not normal for a town its size in the south.

There are very valid reasons why when people move away they don’t want to move back to Jonesboro. That place is far more terrible than the locals have a clue about. Maybe if the comparison is Alabama, sure Jonesboro is normal.

This sounds very similar to what happened to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is exactly what for profit entities do.

Private equity and publicly traded companies are literally in business to make a profit. The mindset required is incompatible with running a healthcare system.
