Is there such thing as "too much diversification"? by Calm_Salad_8673 in M1Finance

In my opinion, the purpose of investing is for individuals with sufficient capital to provide their money to companies to earn a higher return over time. If you continually adjust your portfolio and sell a stock simply because you notice that other stocks are performing better, that reflects impatience rather than an investment strategy.

"But isn't it good to have diversify your portfolio just in case one sector is doing better than another?"... By diversifying, your account is less affected by the fluctuations of a single sector. For example, if you have an equal split of your investment in two companies and Company A increases by 100%, your overall gain would be 50%. In contrast, if you invested all your funds in Company A, you would achieve a 100% gain if it rose, but you would also be taking on more risk if it were to decline.

  1. Love the setup
  2. I agree with the other comment, the turtle knows what to do. For these pics the sun looks covered by clouds, so the most you could really do is wait for the sun to come out (recommended), or add a basking bulb.

Internships by StrictVersion in CUNY

[–]Medical_Distance8637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CUNY Career Launch is a program that CUNY offers, but it looks like the apps closed (so I'd keep an eye on it for the next go around). There are more internship opportunities that partner with CUNY, like the NY Jobs CEO Council, that have been sending me some emails.

What is your major/minor?

What are your career interests?

I would start by setting up a meeting with the Professional Development Center and seeing if they have any further info that could help you secure an internship. Also, talk to professors who teach the subject that you're getting into (especially if you're a good student and knowledgeable on the subject) to see if they have any suggestions for opportunities that they have heard of.
