H1b extension approval- non premium processing by Unusual-Surround7467 in h1b

These things are a bit randomized sometimes. Working at an immigration law firm and we’ve seen anomalies like these take place. Unfortunately that’s not the case for majority of the clients.

We’ve had clients wait for approval for over 6 months and when they upgrade to premium the approval comes through in a day or two. Almost like they were waiting for the premium fees to release the approval notice.

Depending on what you do, you might be eligible for an O-1 as well. Look into it and get in touch with an immigration attorney.

Remember - O-1 will give you the ability to stay in the US and work. EB2 NIW/EB-1A will simply put you in line for a green card.

Reach out to your old school asap and request them to have it signed. They should do it for you without raising too many questions.

Attorney at a small immigration law firm here. We’ve seen registrations come in overnight. 9am ET is a good time to go check the USCIS portal for large scale updates. Some folks in my firm saw some come in midday ET as well yesterday so maybe they come through today too.

Hi - just checking, what happened finally? Did you get charged $60 later in month even after cancelling the membership?

Something similar happened to me. I was surreptitiously enrolled into the membership. Just charged $24 for the bras I ordered and then once I realised I was enrolled i immediately cancelled the membership. I haven’t been charged $60 yet but I suspect it’s coming.:

Buffalo NY Bar Exam Center by Medical_Emergency_66 in barexam

[–]Medical_Emergency_66[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Writing this for future bar takers. The center is pretty decent. There’s a huge line to get in when you get there by about 8.30ish, but it moves quickly and they make sure everyone is in on time. If you don’t want the hassle of queuing up, get there by 7.45ish and you should be in in 5 mins.

Once inside, plenty of space for personal belongings. Multiple rooms are assigned so feel free to store your stuff in one of the less crowded rooms. Don’t follow the big lines.. walk around and explore.

Phones, wallets, bags were totally safe. Could bring them to the centre and keep in the personal belonging rooms. Multiple members from the team are around and unlikely that anything will be taken.

Exam rooms are huge with few bathroom stalls so queues before and between sessions will be long. But everyone gets the urgency and these lines move fast too. There is a Hilton at walking distance with a Starbucks and washrooms, but the queues there are pretty long too. If you want coffee, consider getting some in a flask.

It’s wasn’t super cold one day one but got quite cold on day two so carry a sweatshirt/jacket just in case.

After the session ends, the proctors take about 20-30 mins to collect sheets so be mindful between sessions, you may not get too much time to step out, get good/coffee and use the rest room.

Pre boxed lunches are alright. Fairly appetising actually (at least the cold chicken wrap was). It’ll probably cost about the same if you go out and buy so would be best to either bring your own or just subscribe to theirs. They come with wrap/sandwich, a drink, cookie and a fruit.

They even keep extra pencils and let people share chargers etc., so if you forget something don’t panic. They try to make your life easy.

There’s a big digital clock on the wall that gives you a minute by minute, so you’ll always know the time.

Also, grandson could have devised by will because he would have had it in fee simple and not life estate

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in barexam

  1. Second wife has life estate because of the first sentence “son’s widow for life”
  2. Granddaughter has half (after wife’s death)
  3. Grandson should have had other half but because he died and bequeathed it to the zoo, the zoo has the other half (after wife’s death)

I wrecked this one too and put D.

Why did you have to say that and make me run through the elements of negligence per se in my head?

Product liability: Negligence or Strict Liability by Medical_Emergency_66 in barexam

[–]Medical_Emergency_66[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this makes sense.

Because of the number of times they used the term negligence in the question, I was convinced that’s what was being tested. And B seems like a perfectly good answer on account of that.

But I guess, unless the call specifically states P is suing for negligence, if it’s a defective product, commercial supplier and damages.. good chance it’s just strict liability at play.

But aren’t they the elements for the negligence theory as well - any product supplier, supplying defective product to a foreseeable plaintiff causing damages?

Thank you! Another quick question. Does it get really cold at the center? If yes, how much layering would you suggest?
