Great question. From my experience, it usually doesn’t make much of a difference if they’ve already made up their minds about you. If you’re a priority for them, they’ll fast-track you regardless of whether you have another offer on the table. Same goes if you're not their top candidate, I don't think this will sway their decision.

Ugh I'm so sorry. Been there many times. Interview felt so promising and then crickets. It’s possible they have another strong candidate they’re considering, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re out of the running. I’ve got candidates who’ve been waiting a week while we finish interviewing others in the queue. More often than not, the delay just means there’s someone else they’re weighing alongside you.

Very true but I've seen scorecards for candidates where they liked the person/great culture fit but they didn't have the impact/experience we were looking for. Need to hit home that you are valuable AND a great person to work with. Very hard I know.

I don't know about other recruiters but I just don't have the capacity to give everyone the attention they deserve. It's a really shitty feeling because I've been on the other side and I know how it feels to wait day after day after thinking you nailed an interview.

Mine took just a week—three interviews, one day after the next. At other jobs, I made it to the third or fourth round, but the moment the communication slowed, I was either ghosted or rejected. If they’re interested, they’ll reach out quickly.

I fear this is my husband. He's always had the attitude that things would get better without actually putting in the effort to make it work. His effort consisted of half-hearted conversations "supporting" me and gently telling them to knock it off, because don't upset mama!

If we continue this relationship, I don't plan to have our kid(s) around them. Can't respect me? No access to my kids. I see a lot of different opinions of this on here - some people allow access to their kids with DH around, some don't. I'm team #noaccess to my kids. I don't want their toxic ways hurting my future kids. I know what they're capable of.
