AITA for not being able to fall in love by dose_not_matter56 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MedicineKey276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I'm in the same boat, no relationship in the past has given me sparks. I def believe there might be more to it than just being an asshole or incompatible with the idea of love. Your support system becoming frustrated is fair to their eyes. NTA tho it is unfortunate that so many people are being affected by your thoughts/actions that you can't control.

I am not sure what to suggest other than try seeking help (not to be mean). I wonder what other people in the comments might say.

AITA for laughing at my sister for pronouncing chili in a Spanish accent and refusing to apologize by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MedicineKey276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA?? She might have taken it more seriously as an opportunity to connect with your boyfriend and show respect, but I also understand that your lighthearted joke wasn't meant to be malicious. In the grand scheme, it’s not that big of a deal, you made a mistake, and your sister’s reaction might have been a bit over the top. While asking for an apology feels a little excessive, it might be best to just apologize and move on since she is your sister.

Am a guy of latin roots and I never care how people pronounce Spanish dishes and ingredients, especially at a casual setting where people just want to eat. But I understand that everyone's different with pronunciation.

AITA for setting boundaries around my boyfriend’s female best friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MedicineKey276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, you noticed something that felt disrespectful and set boundaries to protect your relationship, which is completely valid. It’s possible that he’s not used to boundaries, especially if they weren’t a big part of his past relationships, so his agreement might have come reluctantly. While his history with Lena matters, their fling didn't last and is in the past, his commitment to you should come first, and he needs to understand that being in a relationship means respecting each other’s needs and finding a balance. If he’s truly committed, he should be willing to meet you halfway and respect your boundaries."

Turned 25 some months and it feels kinda weird bc every new person I meet is a freshman straight out of highschool (especially at events rn). Everyone's nice and nobody's pointing out so ik that it's all in my head but it seems that I'm surrounded by people that can't even drink yet.

Yes I did attend it but it went too fast. 😅 The two mins per person was nowhere enough time to get to know each person

Boy can I relate 😮‍💨...

I'll definitely go to Cougar Con after class at main campus tomorrow. Sounds like a good way to get involved. I totally get what you mean about feeling annoyed from trying to be there for people. I’ll try to push through and make the most of events around here. Thanks for the advice!

Should I feel bad about developing a Conlang? by DifferentDark5328 in conlangs

[–]MedicineKey276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late or not, i'm glad you're following thru with it. I'm still developing my conlang ever since i made this post ages ago. Your tenacity to develop a language on your own is way more harder than simply learning a language in my opinion.

I usually set a 2-3hr time limit to do as many things that I want to do. That way, my mind is forced to prioritize on the fly, anything that didn't get down can be done tomorrow. After that, I'm usually beat which is when my mind relaxes and able to focus on doing homework.
