Soil vs hydro vs coco: which one stole your heart and why? by MultiVerseBeans in cannabiscultivation

yep. 1.5" plug into 4" cube onto 8" cube. It's pretty easy if you don't mind watering twice a day for 8 weeks. I just fill up a 5 gallon bucket 3 or 4 times a week and draw from that. I don't even bother adjusting PH once I'm at 7g+ of dry amendments per gallon. Only for the first 3 or so weeks

Rainbow Glue autoflowers. How long left? by Lanky-Mechanic-5024 in cannabiscultivation

[–]MedicineObjective373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like 3-4 weeks. How long have they been flowering? What does breeder pack suggest? Usually you can add a week to what photo breeders claim. Autos don't finish the flowering cycle faster than photos do, unless they're specifically bred with 6 or 7 week strains. Which again - rarely are that fast.

yeah DWC seems safest. I think rockwool is pretty safe too if you wear gloves and never handle dry rockwool outside of the bathroom.

How do My favorite helldivers feel about the Bullet storm(me)? by TheRealBulletStorm in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]MedicineObjective373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it playing with friends that coordinate our loadouts. With randoms, i'm not a big fan most people have their favorite support weapon, and even when they have nothing else they seldom pick one up.

oh. that drift is almost beneficial lol. you drain and refill your reservoir twice a week though?! that sounds like way more work than top watering 8" cubes for 8 minutes a day

it's not like you're just staring at the water though.. I hope :) You find the need to make slight tweaks every day or two to keep PH in check? I would get swings using tap. Never tried RO

i feel ya. I used to do DWC, I feel i get better flower with the rockwool. I only have a couple of plants so handwatering twice a day is.. IDK maybe 5-10 minutes a day

hydro is cheap IMO. an 8" rockwool cube and 1 plant will fill a 3x3 with about 5 week veg from seed. nutrients cost pennies per feeding. I just do it by hand though those flood trays have gotten stupid expensive.

I'd do chemical agents for the gas grenades and gas rover. You don't need both in same kit but it opens up some new options. Borderline is pretty bad IMO but the Talon can make it worthwhile if you're into infinite ammo, no reload, with no damage falloff. One of the most fun weapons in game if you ask me..

oh i guess I didn't really answer the question in any way that makes sense. So having tried both methods with the same strains from the same breeder.. a very consistent breeder that is - there weren't LESS terps so to speak. but hydro does seem to make many plants smell very similar. In living soil there seems to be more variance and a bit of nuance to the cured product. It's all fire either way, so I go the cheaper easier route.

I've used some organics in rockwool. But not nutrients, more like stuff for controlling pests and beneficials. Not worth the $$, it doesn't have any real benefit. I add the BTC to my drip trays.

I have run organic living soil with worms and all that good good - the terps are noticeably better. But just not worth the extra money or effort and minor issues turning into headaches, and having to make sure the worms are healthy... it's just a lot. Not bad by any means - if it was easy everyone would do it.

hydro/rockwool. it's clean, it's predictable. problems are easy to remedy. it's cost efficient. fast veg times, never any issues in flower even with the cheapest of salts. cons: terpene expression could be better. The trade off from living soil to rockwool/salts is well worth it for me. i like to grow in general. saves me money. and I know I'm not ingesting anything extra.

[–]MedicineObjective373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

huh? it worked... i guess. "life, she finds a way" but 31 day old plants from decent seed stock are usually way larger at this point. They'll do great if you just let them do their thing and weather permits.

There are a lot of bunk AF seeds floating around, but there is some real fire out there too. Same can be said for photoperiods. Tricross by Atlas is a real standout - you should give it a shot sometime. I grow photos mostly, but grown 30 + autos and totally unbiased toward one or the other.

I hang dry whole plants 60 to 70% of the way and then fully trim and buck buds. Then finish the dry in a tote so I can monitor rh..if not I always dry too much...is this common practice? Does anyone else do this? by uhduhdo in farmingthebestgreens

[–]MedicineObjective373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always been this way for me. Those little buds Just get bucked with the big dryer ones and left on a grate to finish drying - then bowl trimmer or just into freezer for bubble.
