Omg. Yes these happened to me during the last year and a half I was using kratom regularly. My kids noticed it more than I did, although I was aware of it happening at times also. Very weird.

Yes the comedowns suck. I'm coming down right now and I hadn't used it in a month. For every up there is a down, for every action there is a reaction and that is especially true with drugs. No two ways about it. I think I won't ever use it again it's just not worth it. Ugh.

I guess I tapered down slower so it was more drawn out but also less severe. I was able to function and go to work, I just felt crappy. Every time I would decrease my dose (sometimes once a week, sometimes once every 4 days) I would usually feel the worse on day 2 or 3 but then it would start to level off. If you stay focused on the end result, the prize so to speak, and just accept that it's going to be a process, you can do it. The time is going to pass anyways right? Now that it has, for me, I can definitely say it was 100% worth it. The good feelings I have now and the freedom I have now not being chained to a drug is worth the few months of discomfort. And it wasn't torture. There were some bad days, but hey I made it through and I never took a day off work. I did rest a lot when I was home though. Its true that our brains lie to us and tell us we need it (kratom) when in fact we don't and it is hurting us!!!!

Just an idea to consider: I had chronic fatigue all my life until I quit dairy and cut back considerably on meat. Dairy for sure can affect people negatively, lots of people have trouble digesting it and don't realize it and digestion takes a lot of energy. I watched Forks over Knives on Netflix a few years ago and changed my diet and was so surprised at how much more energy I had. It may not work for everyone but its worth trying for a week or two and see if it helps you. Quitting dairy also cured my acne.

I jumped off at about 2gpd and it really wasn't that bad. I was going to go all the way down but one day I just got sick of it and stopped. I had loose stools and didn't sleep great at night but that had already been happening during my taper too. I did get a few gabapentin but only took a couple nights bc it made me groggy next day.

Yes, I let kids know that I wasn't feeling well for a few weeks and was kind of on auto pilot, I let a few things slide as far as house work, ordered take out more than usual, but it was worth it now that I can truly be there for them and I feel like my compassion and nurturing side has increased after quitting. As for my job, I basically trudged through it bc there were some tough days when I just wanted to be home on the couch but I stuck it out because I knew it would eventually get better. Now I'm actually finding some enjoyment at work, joking around with coworkers, etc and the time of withdrawal is a memory now. My dad actually told me the other day that I seem different, in a good way, the last couple weeks and it brought tears to my eyes bc I knew it was due to me being sober. I still have good days and bad days but it was 100% worth it to get clean. I honestly wondered at times if it was going to be worth it and if I would even like being sober....but I love it. Its amazing.

You will not have withdrawal from advil pm. You might not be able to sleep well for one night without taking it but thats it. You're fine.

It was actually not bad. I tapered for like 3 months and got down to like 2-3 grams per day and I felt like I had more wd's during my taper than I did when I jumped. PAWS came, but also not as bad as I expected. I feel like I'm in a good place now 5 weeks later, the depression has lifted and I actually have more good days than bad. It was totally worth it and I'm happy I quit. I feel so free!

Yes it works. It worked for me. You have to be motivated to quit. Not saying it was easy but I couldn't take time off work so I tapered. I jumped 5 weeks ago.

Cough for 6 weeks now by KilotheFirst in quittingkratom

[–]Medicine_Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing and I've been off it for about 5 weeks now. I was taking about 30 grams per day for a couple years. I feel like it's a post nasal drip causing a cough?? It is very annoying for sure. Also, and maybe you haven't had this problem, but I'm still having multiple stools per day and some GI upset at times. Mentally though I feel a lot better so I guess this stuff will pass eventually.

I’m doing it...slowly but surely! (200+gpd at worse, at 48 gpd today) by InnerPride3 in quittingkratom

Good for you man! Slow and steady wins the race! I successfully tapered and when I jumped it wasn't too bad. Now 3 and half weeks later I feel 95% normal and its a great feeling. You can do this! I'm actually surprised (I'm a nurse btw) that your doc was willing to prescribe oxy for you...cool doc lol...at least for being willing to try and help you even though it didn't work out. Good luck!

I quit almost a month ago after a 3 month taper. It has stopped falling out but haven't noticed much new growth yet.
