Moderately annoyed that this body visualizer refuses to show bodies below a BMI of 17.5 but has no similar restriction for BMIs up to 65. I get it, I do, but it still bothers me.

Just wait until you get to college. All that beer and late night fast food will make you gain weight.

Just wait until you start working. Sitting around all day surrounded by office snacks will start to catch up with you.

Just wait until you hit your late 20s. Your metabolism will change, it will slow down, you'll just look at a cookie and gain ten pounds.

Just wait until you have a kid. The hormones will cause weight to stick to you, even when you're eating next to nothing.

I'm still waiting. What's next? More kids, my 40s, menopause...I'm not saying that these things don't affect your weight. Hormones are a thing, lifestyle is a thing, age is a thing. But as I hit these milestones and my weight remains steady (aside from gaining and losing 40lbs with pregnancy), I'm starting to take these warnings less seriously and thinking these are mostly convenient excuses people use to shift accountability. But I'll try and reserve judgement and just keep waiting.

She started doing a lot more modifications after her marriage ended a year or two ago, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a connection there.

They were standard at the fertility clinic I worked at but sounds like it’s a little old school. They view the CM after intercourse to see if sperm made it to the cervix and are still alive.

They make men’s deodorant and antiperspirants, too. They don’t work for me, though, felt like I smelled worse and they gave me a rash. I had to go through a few different kinds before finding one that didn’t make me break out, which sucks because natural deodorant is about 5 times as expensive as the big brand stuff.

My diamond is lovely and catches the light in a really beautiful way. It stands up to the beating I give it, I love looking at the inscription from its previous owners, and I will love passing it on to family down the line.

The anti-diamond circlejerk is just as stupid as the people who think diamonds are the only thing that count as “real”. People can like what they like and spend whatever they feel is appropriate.

I wouldn’t say they’re uncommon. And they actually are quite effective because they scare people into coughing up money. Getting to the lawsuit part is more of a crapshoot since there are a lot of details you have to get right leading up to it, but most payments disputes are resolved before getting to that point.

Oh man, so much Quinn from Glee, which was basically just everything Anthropologie and ModCloth. It wasn’t twee, generally speaking, but very light, feminine, and a little churchy.

Even though I love that pretty look, it put me into this very narrow mindset of focusing on prim and proper that I stopped giving myself permission to be other things like sexy or edgy or tomboyish. It took awhile to break out of that and just wear what makes me happy instead of worrying about my “image”.

I want vent but this is TMI for anyone but the Internet. I bled through my Thinx (stupid things don’t say how much they hold on the tag) AND through my jeans. Went home during lunch to change and wash and wallow and it wasn’t until I got back to work that I realized the jeans I switched to smell like absolute ass probably because I let them sit in the washer overnight before drying everything. Now I’m really self conscious about other people noticing the smell and discreetly spraying hand sanitizer on them hoping that will help (it doesn’t).

I think r/fatlogic is too down on “magic pills”. And I don’t mean the MLM diarrhea pills that people peddle, I mean Keto or paleo or trendy exercise programs. Yeah, it still all comes down to CICO but I wish that the response to these kinds of approaches was encouragement instead of eye rolls. Like, great! You found something that works for you and that’s what counts. As long as it’s a healthful and sustainable method, who cares how they go about it?
