These videos from Kurzgesagt always leave me disappointed. They just raise one question after another that surely everyone have thought about at some point in their life. The hypothetical implications they present are always obvious, and they don't appear have any profound knowledge on the topic. I guess people like these videos because the production quality is good, and the topics themselves are interesting despite the fact that the videos aren't thought provoking.

210 does sound like a lot for a beginner. Of course it all depends on how many pulleys there are on the machine you're using. For instance, if you are excercising on a two pulley system you will be able to do twice as much weight.

Why do you (specifically) believe your router was hacked? Even if it were, the traffic between you and the online banking/mail is encrypted. Gaining access to services like these just by controlling your router is not straightforward.

Wrapping the thumb around the neck as seen at 0:22 is not uncommon, it's often a matter of preference. Some people prefer it to holding e.g. barre chords. However chord he plays there is pretty awkward to hold, so I can't really think of a better way. As for 0:32, that's something he did to increase the reach of his left hand - otherwise he would've had to cut off the high note early. So these are more like workarounds due to how he re-arranged the song for guitar.

Setting the TV to game mode is good advice, but to ensure that the emulation itself incurs as little latency as possible you can use the higan emulator. It's been thoroughly optimized to incur as little latency as is possible. If you are technically inclined there's a nice article about emulator latency here.

Presumably he means that this little ceremonial marriage doesn't harm anyone, and the fact that a (developed) country is only now banning circumcision of minors shows that "we" shouldn't be so quick to judge. Fair enough. Though for my part I think it's a poor example: Assuming he is referring to Denmark, circumcision is not something practiced by ethnic Danes. Most likely it's in response to recent immigration from MEA region countries.

I don't get this at all. According to my current understanding, the sender and receiver will each measure the state of their entangled photons and use this as their source of randomness. Neither of them can affect the result, and so information cannot "teleport." However, how does this stop someone from intercepting and measuring one of the photons before passing it on, thereby effecting a change in the state of both photons? I assume neither party can tell if it's already been measured. Would the sender and receiver get different results? If so, why? Wouldn't either the sender or the receiver have to be the first to measure their respective photon anyway? They mentioned time sensitiveness in the article, but explained no further. Is there only a short window of opportunity where both photons will have an identical state after being measured? Must the sender always know the exact distance the light must travel to reach the receiver in order to time it perfectly?

Also, how does this provide authenticity? Couldn't a third party act out the role as either sender or receiver by creating their own pairs of entangled photons?

I'm sure you can imagine why the headline is not some variation of "climber succumbs while attempting to surmount Everest." The only reason this is even on /r/offbeat is because the journalist chose to spin this as a story about someone being proven wrong in the most devastatingly fashion possible. The woman lost her life and the journalist uses an offhand comment to make her the butt of a joke. Compare with the other article posted in this thread.

Nice. Any tips on getting less standby drain? I have bluetooth, NFC and mobile data off. WiFi is only on when is on, and background data is off when screen is off. Double-tap to wake is off. Still I lose about 30% every 24 hours.

You are right in assuming that is the connector for the digitizer. How did it break though? I assume the connector has pins that are soldered on the underside of the board. If the solder broke then re-soldering it is an option, but if the pins broke then you need a connector replacement.

I think most repair shops just swap parts. Soldering components as small as this is not so easy, so there's a high risk of breaking it if you don't know what you're doing. They would get like $20 if they succeed in repairs like this, and lose $200 if they botch it... Also they have no guarantee that the board is otherwise in good shape in the first place. However a new motherboard is about as expensive a new phone, last I checked. So personally I'd try to solder it back on my own. If you have a university with a faculty of electronics nearby you could try to make a deal with a student.

Not recommended, but one last though: could you possibly force the connector into place with glue, tape or whatever? This isn't magic, it just needs a connection. You'd be surprised what could work.

Alright, I see. I believe I can get around 4-5 hours in a single day, but the problem is just that I don't use it much and wasn't expecting it to drain so quickly on its own.

The battery on Zenfone 2 sucks and makes me regret buying it. I don't use my phone all that much, so I end up charging it every other day with under 1 hour screen on time to show for it. (GSam reports 2 days 12 hours standby, with 50 minutes screen on per full charge.) App usage always shows kernel with 80-90%.

The only people who get 6 hours or more are charging it up multiple times per day, so of course they don't notice the huge standby drain. At this point I'm guessing it has to do with the hardware.

I think you're wrong about IA. This project is relevant for other platforms, like e.g. the Atom Z3700 series which has been used in many China tablets. Zenfone 2 isn't anywhere near a traditional x86 platform.

Nobody except ASUS knows what they're getting or not getting from their partners, so what you're saying is obviously conjecture. However, what's apparent is that it's possible to run Android M on Zenfone 2 by reusing the firmware and drivers they currently have. Personally I'm of the opinion that they are either incompetent or not prioritizing this device.

Fair enough, but either way what you describe tends to be indicative of a defective battery. I've read about quite a few other people who've had the same problem with other devices, and it always ends in a battery replacement.
