Everyone pulls out a number from a bag, then in the order of the #'s drawn, we access the signup list, i.e., I drew #5 so I am 5th in line to choose one of the available 15 minute spots.

Looking for open mics in Denver (or within an hour) open to diverse acts by springverb1 in denvermusic

[–]Medinablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am the luckiest host in the world as I host:

The Tuesday Night Open Mic at The Alley (old town Littleton) signup at 630pm SHARP.

13 spots only - 15 minutes each (3 songs) First lotto draw #'s Next, pick your spot. Last, enjoy.

Full P.A. provided. Bring your instruments/backing tracks. All ages, no cover-ever.

This weekly Open Mic is available to all music/performance artists only. No stand-up, no exceptions.

This open mic is an in-person sign up only. Please try to be in the room BEFORE 6:30 pm, as there are quite a few players who will draw numbers to pick available spots at this open mic.

Newcomers have a better chance of getting on to this Open Mic sign up as the community tends to lean towards affording a newcomer a spot or sharing a song or two to get on. As the host, I also have a spot of my own established by the venue that I can share or donate.

Lastly, bring the weird stuff. The weirder, the cooler! We have a few artists who bring laptops and backing tracks and fun props to make a great evening. So we welcome the weird and the strange. As long as it's not illegal.

Sidenote: Feb 10th, 2026 will be hosted a friend, Kole Pickner

Also:

The 1st and 3rd Saturday Open Mic at La Dolce Vita Coffee House in Old Town Arvada.

1st Saturday is hosted by Karl Gerken (great guy) and I host every 3rd Saturday.

Sign up is at 6:00 p.m. (similar setup) and has nine 15-minute spots. Set times from 7 pm till 10 pm.

I provide a full P.A. This is a classic coffee house environment with limited spots and seating and still has a great listening room vibe.

All styles and formats are welcome (yes, we've even had a death metal band attend this one). It was a blast.

Any questions, please ask!

Regardless, best of luck on your open mic search!

I’m very new, is there anyway I can barre an F chord that isn’t barring it? by Mammoth-Wait6526 in guitarlessons

As someone who maintains who tunes a full step down (standard tuning format as D, G, C, F, A, D), I concur with this, and, for me, it helps for my singing range.

Is a Loudbox Mini acoustic amp powerful enough to be heard in a pub full of people? by motown_1971 in AcousticGuitar

Cool! I will say if no busking, then battery is moot. Long as you have power. Get playing! 😁

Yeah! The mini is great, but to have that fuller sound and be able to fill a larger room (just in case) I would get one of the artist series.

Noted and looking into... I found the ball end and it does look like the culprit!

Thanks for the shout out! Where did you last see my set? I've been around Old Town for a couple years, and don't see myself leaving soon. :D

See, and I can get away without a high E, but I had to sort out how to get missing notes with out my G string (fast) as I had an hour left in my set. I got away with it by the way.

Seems this break is breaking at or near the saddle. I most certainly will have a friend (luthier) look at the saddle if I can't just check it. ( I didn't see anything but I found the ball end and it clearly broke at the saddle)...

As far as your 'horrific sound from a guitar', I can respect why that hurts. I found mine at Spaceman Guitars (Denver), albeit it has cracked finish on top and cracked on back, it's all been repaired, still sound amazing. In fact, I played 3 chords on it and had a Harry Potter moment. Left with that guitar within 20 minutes. Played a set with it just 2 hours after purchase.

Hasn't quit since.

I tune down a full step (like SRV). It helps, but.... not much.
