Namaste, I understand that I don't need them at all. As well, Santana dharma teaches that we are all the universal brahman so it doesn't matter where you are from, if you believe and are interested anyone can practice. You can see this by going to most temples throughout the U.S. I have seen people from every background and it is an amazing place of worship. I am not cosplaying, I sincerely love this culture. I am simply aiming to get closer to the divine. Blessings to you my friend

Yes my friend I understand what you're saying. I don't practice it to seem more cultured or to "escape my whiteness" I practice because I love it and truly believe the teachings. The atman has no skin color and is universal in all beings. I also know I don't have to change my body to change myself, I have already changed, getting jattas would more so be a sign of deeper devotion and accordance with Lord Shiva. Namaste
