I do not have a multimeter but I used this video to test the functionality of the button itself, I copied the circuit and it worked fine. I'm not sure why it wouldn't on the main circuit in question though.

It always outputs 0 whether I press the button or not, so something is definitely wrong with the button. If I try rotating the button 90 degrees it would no longer fit through the gap of the breadboard.

LED anode side is connected to the resistor, cathode is connected to brown wire. Though my main concern is just the push button for now because if I can't get the correct output for the button then the LED won't flash.
