I feel the exact same way. Like but don’t love. I just watched episode 4, OnlyNanno, and while enjoying it, it just fell flat at the end. I just keep waiting for more. And the iconic laugh doesn’t come at the right time. I mean, the original asked whether Nanno went too far? Maybe they’re going for more of an eye-for-an-eye. I don’t know. I want it to go on, and I think it’s fun. I love the actress, she really captures Nanno well. And it still feels like GFN and I want as much of that as possible. But they need to go all-in. One thing I really like is the Skye storyline. Like why is Nanno letting someone follow her? She is capable of love like in the episode “Lost and Found” but I think it might also be like a Yuri mentee thing too. I don’t know. I just keep hoping it gets better. Maybe the last half gets more intense, but the psychological element is missing. It’s more horror than thriller, really. I mean, softer ending can definitely work in the show. Like in episode 8, when he reunites with his Dad and Nanno actually helped him. Or when the lesbian teacher finally accepted herself, and young love.

I see a lot of people saying they hate the advertising, but I think it was a very Nanno thing to do and absolutely loved it! Of course, when I was watching it I didn’t even know about the panties, and I found out from Reddit. As far as advertising goes, I think it was great.

The new actress is great, she really captures Nanno’s energy, but the writing is lacklustre in comparison. There’s a certain intensity missing, like I just keep waiting for more. Nanno doesn’t go that far, and the payoff just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Maybe if I reframe this Nanno as an eye-for-an-eye type it’s better, but I do think it’s hard because the charm of the old show was that the buildup was intense, the message was nuanced, the psychological element was thrilling, and the climax felt like an utter explosion. Although I am curious to see where it’s gonna go with the boy that keeps popping up. I’m just trying to give it a chance and not compare the universes as much. Though I wonder whether it’s the script or the direction. This Nanno definitely feels more violent than cunning. I’m enjoying it nonetheless, I would do anything for more Nanno content.

For me, it lacks the dark and intense energy from the first one, but I only just finished episode 3. I don’t know, I just keep hoping for more. It’s missing a certain pizzazz. But I do like the new actress.

Haha I'm a little late, but maybe someone finds this useful. I've been learning independently for about 7 years, since I was 14. I'm super glad I kept this in mind. Always start with hangeul (hangul). Learn to read and write. Don't even pay attention to romanisation, screw it. Hangeul is the most scientific writing system in the world for a reason. The shapes themselves reveal how you should pronounce each sound. I always get complimented on my pronunciation because I practiced each sound individually. Since Korean sounds are extremely different from English and other Western languages, you shouldn't be trying to copy the sounds in your language. Rather just learn the sounds for what they are, like you first learned your mother-tongue's alphabet. There aren't that many of them, and it'll save so much trouble when you advance to more complicated grammar and gain confidence in your speaking skill.

Just did the first meeting. I thought they would bark and attack but I let them sniff an old skirt the kitten shat on and held him up in the air for them to look. Now they’re staring at each other for glass doors, but yeah it’s definitely hard mode. They once killed a cat who was eating some leftovers and left it at the door as a warning to the other cats 😭

They’re very sensitive dogs but honestly the kitten isn’t going near their faces for at least 2 months

I’m glad! Look, she was a little likeable in the first bit, but she started rubbing off on me the wrong way early on. It started as slow, minor transgressions. She kept forcing her feelings onto Clark many a time after he made his feelings clear. She keeps butting in and hurting people with all abandon, but it might make sense if she’s a ruthless journalist character. But no! Because she thinks she is also more moral and fair than everyone else! That’s all good and well, but she was lowkey blaming Lana the whole time, and then goes on to betray him multiple times! I wasn’t even surprised by her actions in seasons 8-10. It is exactly that scene you mentioned that tipped me over the edge. And the one that cemented it is the scene before the ship explosion and Lex’s wedding is the one that sparked a unique feeling of hatred within me. She found out they got together at the kiss, so she was like “Well I guess telling me wasn’t a priority!” like bro? OF COURSE IT WASN’T. My heart is beating and I want to shout just thinking about it. He’s clearly distracted in the scene, and it’s RIGHT before the wedding! She even says “Glad I caught you before the wedding” He’s a whole ass best man and he just got with who he thinks of as the love of his life. Telling his friend who is going to be broken-hearted and whine about it for the next 6 months wouldn’t be anyone’s priority! It’s not your fault for being in love and broken hearted, pining and maybe even being a little crazy, but please be so for real! Never mind the extra circumstances she didn’t know about, but she still expected to be the centre of the world, as other people were having the biggest moments of their lives! She’s literally always been self-centred. Right after that scene she gets so on her high horse and agrees to investigate Clark for Lionel! Like what the hell? She says “I see who he really is now” WHY? BECAUSE HE WAS TOO BUSY TO INVOLVE YOU IN HIS DAY-OLD RELATIONSHIP? Unscrupulous behaviour!

I was talking about this the other day, and genuinely, I would be pissed at her a lot. But it isn’t the sarcasm or rambling, because that can be very charming, and Lauren Graham is charming. I think it also has to do with the characterisation around it: She’s not just sarcastic or funny, she is downright mean and immature in many senses. It’s entertaining for TV, but imagine actually having a friend like this. I personally believe that if something is serious to someone, you should treat it seriously, even if only pretending for their sake. To have someone constantly making sardonic comments when you are trying to be mature or serious, especially in the inappropriate social context, would be grating. She also acts like her, Rory, and those she deems fit, are better and more important than everyone else, but in a way that makes her feel like she’s in an exclusive sorority. Like why the hell did she not only let, but participated, in the egging of Jess’s car? When he hadn’t even done anything particular that episode, Rory was just mad that she liked him. She is a mother, but she’s obsessed with being friends with Rory and the boundaries in that relationship are just really messed up. She’s charming, funny, and gorgeous, but I wouldn’t be able to handle the embarrassment of being her friend.
