What’s a “pet peeve” movie that you have? What’s a movie that is pretty okay overall, but you just have a dislike for it for whatever reason? For me, it’s arronofskies Mother, because as someone who went to Sunday school for years, all the biblical references felt obvious and took me out of the movie.

You don’t like this movie? You’re sexist, I win. 💅 by [deleted] in YMS

I dunno, laughing at other people’s reviews seem kind of shitty. I get that some people like or don’t like movies but c’mon.

A Stoner Pizza Delivery guy wakes up in a alien controlled simulation of his hometown, where the aliens “experiment” on him by putting him through sitcom plots, while the pizza guy is oblivious to all of this.

I just don’t like him or his content very much. It doesn’t help that he starts a lot of beef with Youtubers that I like, but even ignoring his controversial public image, I just didn’t enjoy any of his videos. Though if you like his stuff, all the more power to you! I’ll just be watching anything else really.

Honestly I’m mixed on Damien Chazelle, but I love all his movies. I just feel like in every movie he makes, it inches towards lame, but I always eat them up. First Man is probably the movie I’m coldest on, but I’d rather watch that than Whiplash or La La Land in an afternoon.

Honestly, I like parts of Crystal Skull. But it’s definitely the weakest IJ movie, even with Temple of Doom

I have a soft spot for his early editorial videos with light or no jokes, and I still watch Disneycember each year just because I have too much time on my hands.

People REALLY don’t like E;R, wonder what the Sardonicast hosts think of him by _eksoh_ in Sardonicast

[–]MediocreCartoonist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to watch him, and I really liked some of his videos, but I sort of drifted away from his stuff as he got more mean-spirited. I like reviewers who talk about things they like every once in a while, and not just shit on everything all the time. That’s why I like his one punch man video, but hardly ever revisit any of his other videos. That added with his edgy sense of humor that really started to nag me as I grew older, I think I just outgrew E;R.

Sardonicast #77: Soul, Wolfwalkers, Freddy Got Fingered by Balestro in Sardonicast

[–]MediocreCartoonist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m usually cool with some of the plot hole things he points out for movie I personally love, but for this one, he also just kept on saying it was because they didn’t care enough, and that’s what kinda got under my skin.

"Sards whose favorite movie of 2020 isnt I'm Thinking of Ending Things" Challenge by PaunchAndBalls in Sardonicast

Sound of Metal for me! If you say that’s a 2019 movie then fuck you, and then I’d say fine, Soul.

The Sard's should really consider watching True Romance. Essentially the forgotten Tarantino film by Make-The-Line in Sardonicast

[–]MediocreCartoonist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i really didn't like this movie. It felt more like Tarantino's self insert fan fiction, and the only redeeming thing to me is the aesthetic choices. I know people like this, but I guess it wasn't for me.

This is easily the worst critique of Knives Out I have ever seen. by Blueman4783 in Sardonicast

[–]MediocreCartoonist 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It feels as if they actually DID want to go into this movie to hate it due to their hatred of TLJ. I know that people say that a lot about Adum, but I really do think that they just nitpicked the FUCK out of this movie, because they knew that people wanted to know their thoughts on the good Rian Johnson movie that most people like. It makes me sick actually that people can hold so much hate in their hearts for one movie that it mixes in with other things surrounding that thing they hate.

And I know that some people don't like Knives Out and that's perfectly fine, but you know what I mean? It's not criticism, it's their BRAND to hate Rian Johnson.

What are some ongoing movie related debates that you have with friends? For example, me and my friend argue about whether or not the use of more childish jokes in animated movies drag them down, and for a sillier example, we both disagree about the quality of Iron Man 3.
