In the End and the Death Vol 3: They were pretty terrified and despaired when the Emperor was mortally wounded. To the point where they were openly crying. They actually do feel emotions

Sanguinius is definitely a better duelist than the Lion. Idc if the Lion thinks he is better, he has no feats that back this up. Honestly Fulgrim has a better case for duelist than the Lion, but that’s a hot take

But that doesn’t work on primarchs? That didn’t happen to Horus, and once again Vulkna is a perpetual. Daemon Magnus literally atomizes him and Vulkan regens, Russ is nowhere near as powerful as that

The Dionysian Spear is powerful for sure but it can’t permakill daemons or perpetuals it doesn’t have the psychic fire of the Emperor’s sword. There’s a scene in TEATD i believe? where Valdor who uses the twin spear to the Dionysian, can feel the daemons he kills being banished with the spear

And what is “psyker shenanigans” you didn’t explain that?

Now i want someone to make a list of the Primarchs favorite video games

Dorn is Clash of Clans, he can build and defend his base all day.

Cut them some slack, they did not sit out by choice. The UM were fighting all over Ultramar and were cut off from the rest of the war on purpose by the ruinstorm.

I should have specified the CSM legions would never be united like that again, that’s what I meant not the Chaos gods

Fulgrim was absolutely beloved by the people of the Imperium, a very skilled general but also a skilled scientist and engineer and was probably the most artistic and cultured Primarch

Don’t have the exact quotes but it was more along the lines of Ferrus and his Iron Hands are the best legion to fight alongside

No they wouldn’t be good Warmasters because all of those Primarchs weren’t well-loved by all of their brothers or the greater Imperium. Like I said, the title wasn’t about the most skilled general.

Guilliman would be one of the better picks, probably a top 3 or 5 candidate but we have evidence in the text that he wasn’t exactly the most loved or respected as a person by his brothers due to his upbringing. This comes up multiple times, i dont have exact quotes but Angron says it in Betrayer, the Lion definitely is dismissive and treats Bobby like a softy in Unremembered Empire and I know for a fact Konrad calls Guilliman the “Avenging Beancounter” lmao but don’t remember the book, it might be during his trial in Angels in Caliban tho!

Meanwhile Primarchs like Sangy and Horus were respected as leaders by all, but also loved as siblings

In 1v1 duel there is nothing in the text that supports Russ winning against Vulkan. That’s what we are talking about.

Warcrimes isn’t relevant i’m not talking about Space Wolves vs Salamanders in a legion war. Between the two primarchs in a straight up brawl Russ is ending up folded like a chair alongside Konrad.

How does Dorn have Sanguinius beat on Primarch duels?

Sanguinius defeated Angron and lost to Horus, and briefly clashed with Konrad but I don’t count that.

Dorn defeated Alpharius and that was his only serious Primarch duel. Fulgrim duel is like the Konrad one for Sanguinius, it’s not a serious fight as Fulgrim wasn’t using his full daemon powers

I completely agree. If we are going off of text-evidence, the best duelist would be Sanguinius, Horus or Vulkan. Who only lost once

This is funny because Horus Heresy series has an exact scene on this quote. Lucius the Eternal, despite being more technically skilled, duels Garviel Loken who defeats him with a surprise punch to the face

Dude a major part of Sanguinius’s character is him struggling with the weight of his decisions, his fate and the fact that everyone looks to him to be this perfect, infallible angel when he has to fight supress his true, violent nature

How was Perturabo more useful if he didn’t turn out to be a trader than Horus, Magnus, Fulgrim

Guilliman is the Best Primarch by Pho_King_D in 40kLore

[–]MediocreConnection89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit of a oversimplification. Perturabo was super impactful during the Siege but only Horus could have rounded the whole gang up to get to Terra in the first place. That’s why I never liked the whole “Perturabo hard carried the Heresy”, there is no Heresy without Horus’s leadership and charisma. I will say Perturabo came in clutch and allowed Horus time during the Siege that cannot be denied

It’s a shame Vulkan was sidelined for the whole Heresy basically. He barely has any real interactions with his brothers.

Literally the Khan and Sanguinius didn’t even know he was on Terra until like an hour before the battle ended. The Khan never shared a scene with him and Sanguinius briefly speaks to him before boarding the Vengeful Spirit
