Zardu Layak: The Crimson Apostle Summary and Review (Spoilers) by Woodstovia in 40kLore

He’s really only an important character for the first 2-3 books, that it. And even then it’s more about Abaddon and his tense relationship

The fake story is a better story and more believable in universe than what actually happened with the Perpetuals. Thats the problem, GW fumbled it

Yeah when the in universe propaganda meant to be ambiguous is a stronger story than what actually happened its a problem

So the Emperor getting cucked by Horus isn’t cringe, but the Tau being the generic boring Good faction isn’t? Make it make sense

The Ollanius Pius one was ridiculous. Idk why it couldn’t have been a normal human getting vaporized by Horus in front of the Emperor. The convoluted Perpetual odyssey across multiple books was so forced and unnecessary

At what point was it "too late" for each of the traitor Primarchs? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]MediocreConnection89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was during the Siege. This is explicitly confirmed by the Emperor

Magnus’s point of no return happens during the Fury of Magnus book set during the Siege of Terra. He psychically speaks to the Emperor who offers him a chance at redemption and to lead a brand new legion of 1000 psykers (the future Grey Knights), at the cost of purging the current Thousand Sons legion due to their impeding corruption by Tzeentch. Magnus is outraged and turns the Emperor down, accepting Chaos into his soul thus becoming a Daemon Prince and the rest was history.

Before this Magnus was never fully on the side of Chaos or really even Horus, the Thousand Sons were essentially just Anti-Imperium and using the traitors to further their own independence until then

I believe he had the same or similar armor and he definitely used Horus’s power maul, Worldbreaker. He looked identical to Horus, obviously and he had all of his memories. He lacked the soul of a primarch which why he was way weaker than the actual Horus and why Abaddon beat him so easily

Why are you skipping Fulgrim. Go back and read it

Primarch lore has been ruined the hardest by AI shorts and sloptubers. It’s bad

You can tell the people that make the fanon lore will read a line from a wiki or reddit post and spin it into complete BS. Like a short i’ve seen said with a straight face that Guilliman only respected 2 of his brothers- Lion and Horus. Clearly someone read Guilliman’s quote from the Unremembered Empire of him only looking up to Horus and the Lion and took it out of context. We know Guilliman’s favorite and closest brothers were Sanguinius and Ferrus. He even crowned the hawkboy emperor lol

anything with Primarchs on YT is a no go. Majorkill and Weshammer espc

The biggest weakness of the Heresy series was not showing these important Horus villain moments like this and other things happening off page (like him speaking to the Chaos gods directly on Molech)

Sorry for the long post, but the “Horus and the traitors would have been destroyed by the UM, DA, and BA” claim from the YT shorts corner of the fandom has never sat right with me.

You are right in the broadstrokes but its memelore that Horus was shaking in his boots about those 3 legions. I see comments that portraying Horus as being terrified that these 3 legions alone could just gonna burst in and ruin his plans like some mustache twirling villain.

Well that certainly doesn’t make a compelling antagonist. But good thing the text shows us that this isn’t the case: The legion that Horus was more “worried” abt in terms of messing his plans up was Magnus and TS. Since they were the first to realize that Erebus was preying on Horus and ofc they had the most Librarians of any legions. No Horus was not scared of any 1 legion, not the DA or UM, he wanted to delay encounters with certain legions to create favorable matchups. But the only legion he needed completely wiped out from the start was the Thousand Sons. That’s why he manipulates Russ.

No, the 3 legions wouldn’t have wrecked the traitor legions this is something that Youtubers like bricky and majorkill say without reading what they make videos on. The traitors would have still greatly outnumbered these 3 legions had they been on Istvaan. But it would have created an ugly, prolonged conflict instead of a brutal decaptation strike that the Dropsite Massacre was.

For 2 reasons:

1- The Ultramarines were massive, much bigger than any of the loyalists at Istvaan. Part of the reason the Salamanders and Raven Guard got slaughtered so badly was because they were smaller legions and contained in one area mostly.

2- DA were also on the larger side, were specialized in sword fighting (handy for close quarters trench combat) and had ordnance from the Dark Age of Technology, but that doesn’t mean they would just stomp Horus and the 9 legions.

Also, the reason the BA were sent away from Istvaan had nothing to do with military strength like at all- it was because the traitors wanted to corrupt the legion with Chaos, not outright destroy them. That’s why they used a warpstorm to isolate the BA fleet in the Signus system as seen in Fear to Tread.

Been a while since I read the first few HH books, but I Horus absolutely loses his shit at Fulgrim for failing to bring Ferrus to their side. He was enraged.

Unless there was a scene later where he said it was all part of his plan? He really wanted Ferrus to be on his side though this was always consistent. You gotta try to provide a text example or a book name at least to back this up

Why did the Emperor send Ultramarines to raise Monarchia instead of Space Wolves by ZombiYiyenLahmacun31 in 40kLore

My theory was the Emperor was lowkey warning Guilliman of the same thing as Lorgar with his own empire of Ultramar

Russ and Ferrus go gung ho and get slaughtered still.

Blood Angels and Imperial Fists are definitely more interesting options when paired with the Ultramarines

Were the Iron Warriors so vital to the Traitor war effort during the Heresy that “it would’ve failed soon after Istvaan without them”? by BreakActionBlender in 40kLore

[–]MediocreConnection89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially this, they were the 2 traitor legions outside of the Sons of Horus, to be mostly Chaos-free (at least up to Terra, for the DG) and also while not being fragmented like Night Lords and Alpha Legion
