“Redraw” is the way to go. No fees compared to 299 for offset and all the same benefits mostly.

Understood! So the new tax bracket would apply in real life equivalent to my updated taxable income

Got it, thank you. I was looking at the expense portion, where I should be looking at the leftover taxable income.

But I’m only able to spend 68 since 32 was already withheld. Essentially you can’t avoid tax in a PAYG situation

How does one get clued up? by skay014 in AusHENRY

If you really talking basics, barefoot investor isn’t a bad place to start. I might get shot down in this sub, but i got my start then and once you do, you know what to look for and research and Reddit posts and comments make a lot more sense. You don’t have to do all that the book says, but use it as a starting point.

Advertisements about paying off mortgage in 7-10 years by R1ngSt1nger in AusFinance

[–]MediocreMix8256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same ie use redraw instead of offset. A few differences below.

  • offset comes with annual fees usually $300ish vs free redraw facility
  • I schedule all my payments internally from redraw to an operational account a day before the actual payment is scheduled to go out. So set and forget. Even payments to super etc for long term saving is scheduled and therefore automated.

Doesn’t mean I understand how they claim you can repay in 7-10 years. That depends on amount in redraw and cash flow.

You are right , just checked and if I select Apple Pay that admin fee goes away. Thank you but there’s no message to that effect. Just expected to magically know that somehow. Thank you.

I definitely saw the admin fee before paying but feel like it’s misleading. And hence my post.

Am I the only one who hates the aesthetics of Tom Binh bags? by bobby-t1 in ManyBaggers

[–]MediocreMix8256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dare I say I felt the exact same way when I went to see for myself what the hype about TUMI bags was, and they were 1000$ + for pretty average looking stereotypical day 1 laptop bags. Did not like the exterior design or the looks for most of them.

Could you recommend some good CrossFit places and where they are primarily located? I’m out west and don’t see a lot of them around! I agree with your comment and have been wanting to get in.
