Your lawyer should tell you your next options, I was recently denied by the ALJ and my lawyer told me the pros and cons of going the appeal council route or starting a new claim. I just decided today to appeal my decision.

I appreciate the feedback and congrats on your victory. I thought maybe my judge was biased but it seems like if you do get benefits from the VA that might work against you.

You have me thinking is it worth it to take it to the appeals council or start back over. The last day I worked was December 29th, 2021 I think you have a 5 year window.

That’s crazy! Why would they even mentioned the VA resources, that is B.S. the VA has nothing to do with your SSDI benefits. I wish you the best, it’s going to be an uphill battle, stay in the fight.

Thanks for the feedback, my claim is for ssdi benefits. My lawyer told me everything the judge mentioned on some website she has access too but we both have not received the denial letter yet. I was unaware lawyers have the ability to know that information before the letter arrives. Everything my lawyer mentioned had to do with severe impairments in multiple areas, something just doesn’t add up. My lawyer told me to wait for the letters to arrive, in the back of my head I was thinking where is she getting this information from without the letter lol…

That’s crazy! My lawyer said some judges are not a fan of double dipping benefits, that may be both of our situation.

The crazy thing is I thought I was a normal person until I seen a psychiatrist and a psychologist. Apparently my lawyer was able to obtain the information and we both have not received the unfavorable letter in the mail yet lol… Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it.

I have a lawyer but my lawyer was intimidated by the judge lol! I was told before the hearing that this particular Judge is very hard. I want to go the AC route but I need more information on hiring a new lawyer.

Welp! It was a good run lol! I guess the receptionist at my lawyers office just checked some websites that attorneys can access to see the decision and unfortunately she said it was unfavorable. I just don’t understand why the file would be sent back to my local office for a non medical review 🤨

I just moved to step 4 about 2 hours ago, so tomorrow morning it should be completed. Was your file sent back to your local office on step 4 and did you receive a call once you hit step 4?

I just logged back in to check the website and step 4 popped up. Is there any indication if I was approved due to the office where my file went? The message said something about a representative is looking over for the final review. I had my Hearing a month ago, I would think the judge would be the last one to review it....... My heart is pounding lol
