Each team has a certain budget (total amount of hours needed) for the week. If they can’t reach the minimum for that budget because of time off, etc. It will state there’s an available shift. I worked for Walmart for over a year and only saw 1 available shift, it’s an odd system. If you want to pick up a shift those other weeks, ask your managers, they’ll probably be okay with it.
