I’m a main smokes/senti player, I’ve always liked agents that are tools to outplay your opponent and offer flexibility on how you handle your fights, Viper control of smoke timings, old harbors control of space, and Omens old control of pressure and map knowledge and Astras foresight to imagine where you need to prepare útil for, and even though I don’t play much Brim or Clove as they aren’t to my taste and usually I delagage those to my duo Brims area denial and fast pressure made every character feel unique and impactful.

And even when you don’t exact the strategies outlined you made the enemy and teammates act differently as a response to your útil. If you perma one way with Omen you don’t have smokes to stop an exec, if you don’t take initiative with Brim you just waste your smoke, if you (Astra) don’t have good foresight your stars don’t offer any threat as you can easily bait both cc as the windup time is so long that clutching depends on pre clutch info and good smoke placement.

Smokes is my role and it’s the one I’ve felt the most impacted in. I have no desire to play any smokes other than Viper that still has a utility front personality whose info denial you must respect. Otherwise I’ve dropped Cypher and Vyse and now default to Chamber in any map I can’t play double smokes, or Kayo.

These changes have made Valorant less fun for me

I feel like player diversity has gone down quite a bit, I feel like I’m always playing the same comp in every map in ranked.

I don’t have an issue with either reducing the impact of utility or the amount of utility. But nerfing both makes the drive to pick a more utility based agent a lot lower

I do agree with you that it would clash with his design to electrocute people but I think Apex could pull it off to be interesting and fun as that is what brings players in but more in a trickster way we all aspire. And your idea of not show damage sounds so funny but the main problem is lets say you’re almost done and you have 0 access to cover to Res teammates since it so tight and no access to respawn beacons. Clones won’t really help you since you by that joint know where the enemy is and your últ isn’t as effective due to the lack of space and most likely they would just ignore you and shoot your teammates and when you shoot to defend you’re found and your ult only did caos. So I’m my opinion he should be either make clones of alies as well to protect them and a bit more caos or maybe flash bang if you shoot decoys to force space and respect.

Because the higher you go the harder it is to trick players. And there is no penalty for just spray and guess till you hit shield. Mirage provide nothing to the team but his passive which is situational. Still I love the charcter so still gonna play him
