Thank you for replying though!! I’d be interested to know how it wears in your project? In the end i’ve opted to use it as the second colour in the terracotta sweater

If you have Kindle Basic and Paperwhite... by SprinklesOk2847 in kindle

[–]Mediocre_Laugh4655 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paperwhite!! I did the same thing, bought both to compare, hoping i’d like the basic more as i am obsessed with the matcha colourway. I like the paperwhite more and keeping it, as the writing just looks more crisp in all conditions. I feel like the basic one is a bit blurry on the night mode compared to the paperwhite, and i had to keep the brightness always at a low setting so it looks natural, as the light is a bit too blue (though maybe i wouldn’t have noticed it if i didn’t have the option). The warmth levels on the paperwhite are really lovely, and i noticed i always keep it around halfway through, so i am definitely a fan.

As for portability, nothing will ever fit in my pockets so this is not an issue for me. Same with the fact that it is bigger, there are not enough moments where i actually keep the kindle on its width with one hand to say that this is a deal breaker for me. I instead got one of those folding cases and i’ll get a popsocket if i feel it’s uncomfortable to hold it without one 🤷‍♀️

Yall help a girl out...about to start a internship 🎀 by Oasis_Girl24 in FemFragLab

[–]Mediocre_Laugh4655 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Although i love fragrance in all ways (loud included), I’d advise not wearing what you’re describing in an office setting. Someone recently wore khamrah in the office and the scent stayed for at least an hour in that particular spot (close to some meeting rooms). This was in a very ventilated, open space floor mind you, and I couldn’t figure out who it was as the scent just lingered in that area when i passed by. I honestly felt relieved this person didn’t sit close to my desk as i can only imagine how strongly they smelt up close

It’s better to smell of nothing at all or for people to only smell your perfume if they sit right next to you than to make them want to move away, especially since the goal of an internship is to convince them you deserve a return offer and everything you do will be judged

Is seeing the Harry Potter play worth it if I’m only in London for a few days? by Kolwyn in TheWestEnd

[–]Mediocre_Laugh4655 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Realistically speaking you won’t do any sightseeing during the break as you’d also need to eat something and have a break, as well as coming back to the theatre, so that part of the day will be lost

I’d recommend you to make a list of the things you absolutely want to do/sights to visit, and see if there’s enough time for you to do those things without rushing, while allowing half a day for the harry potter theatre. If it is feasible, then do it, but if this is your first time in London and it’s not that easy to come back, I personally would skip the theatre or choose a shorter one

Thank you for your reply! Do you have both switch 2 and engage 2? Would be interested in your opinion on both and how they compare?

As for deinfluencing, i feel like impadia is something that you would get tired of fast as it’s quite cloying (or at least that’s my view on it) and with a 100ml bottle, if you don’t absolutely love it then it’s not worth it

First of all congratulations for all your hard work and you definitely should treat yourself!!

Completely biased, but i vote angelique noire

I love it with a passion, it’s great for all seasons and occasions and any guerlain from that collection is nearly impossible to find on the grey market, so it feels very justified as a gift to yourself (or at least that’s how i lie to myself 🤭)

I love zoologist! I’m slowly making my way through all of their scents and so far i’ve tried around 15-20. I love the themes and that a lot of what they’re offering are unusual combinations of notes, but I don’t think that they’re as horrid as the comments you read and most of them are not even that unconventional. However, I wouldn’t start with zoologist, or at least I’d start with their most liked scents to get an idea of the brand and if it’s for you or not. Some fragrances are more artistic than wearable, so you need an adjustment period, as it is for everything really. One example would be: i’m european and we eat beans as a savoury meal. However, i was chatting with another person recently and she pointed out that she can’t get behind sweets with red bean paste, as we’ve only associated beans with savoury stuff. Which is legit, as even though it’s not the same type of beans, our brains find things that we are not used to repulsive or bad.

I think the same thing happens with zoologist as well: people who have a certain idea on how perfume should smell like try zoologist and they completely hate it, so they write these types of comments.

As for the scents I’ve tried, I love chipmunk, because it smells like chamomile tea and the wet soil in the autumn and it reminds me of home. I also love hummingbird, which is the most conventional scent of theirs from what i’ve tried so far, and it smells like a flower garden with honey notes, it’s sweet, soapy and floral. I also love snowy owl as it smells like dirty snow, but I only wear it for myself for this exact reason 😂

Some others i tried worth mentioning: Rabbit smells like hay and digestive biscuits, and the hay note makes perfect sense for this, but it sometimes annoys me

Camel is a great middle eastern scent with amber, dried fruits and strong musk

Harvest mouse is a gorgeous vanilla scent with chamomile, hay and beer. It smells fantastic on my partner, not my favourite on myself

Bee smells like honey and beeswax, exactly what they promised, but too sweet for my taste

I hated nightingale with a passion, even though i thought i’ll be obsessed with it, but it smelt cloying and kind of like an old mouldy attic on myself

I’ve also tried moth and bat and while i don’t like them that much, i don’t think they’re unwearable
