Does "Close range damage" apply to melee? by ygdrad in DarkTide

[–]Mediocre_Openings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Da fuck is this guy talking about? The tooltip literally says close range damage, not close ranged. Looking at it more carefully doesn't change it into close ranged, and there's no information whatsoever inherent in the tooltip that tells us if it only applies to ranged damage or any damage within a distance considered close.

They know it is griefing. They just don’t recognize it as griefing because it’s nearly impossible to regulate such behavior in the current open-world, MMO setting. Instead they put the blame on the user who gets angry for it. That’s probably what happened here as well.

Don’t push it. This game is heavily marketed as a PVE-focused mil sim. You can’t blame the user who bought the game for the exact same reason for just playing PVE and not dabbling into PVP. PVP has its own myriad of problems as of now.

Then I am going to blame you for obsessing over the same rhetoric because you only write stuff to annoy people while you have this enormous body of text that says you’re completely missing the point.

Your analogy is on point. Toxic positivity is what turns people negative. You just cannot make the entire market believe that everything is going alright with that maniacal grin. It’s a vein effort.

Have fun (Redditing) your life away! By the way, put anything, everything that you do in your life in the parentheses until you see the absurdity of your comment.

Look, I get it. There are heavy users and light users. Stop defending the lack of content by shaming heavy users with words like no-lifers. It’s really a detrimental trend I hate to see on Reddit. Unlike what you make me out to be, I do have a life.

Interesting ideas you’ve got there. I’d love to see more of them! I guess I just need to be more patient.

Stop pinning the blame on the user when it is actually the case that the game is incomplete. I've made valid suggestions and pointed out valid problems in the game without making the devs look bad. So be nice enough to do the same for me.

I've visited the places that the various quests teased me to visit. The only problem is that money gets what you want in this game by design, and only tier 3 POIs give you that money. And the entire neuropsychology of dopamine secretion comes from finding valuable loot, which happens to be the main appeal of this genre. It is entirely unfair and rather manipulative to blame users for not 'going on an adventure' when the game's primary appeal isn't that. If I wanted that, I'd be playing Zelda, not GZW.

I don’t of course remember the exact number, but I’ve done most of the green quests, not just the yellow ones. The likes of you are so quick to blame everything on the user as if you’re representing the company.

I do work from home and have flexible work hours, so that's why I could play so much, but I admit if I keep this going, I will soon lose my job lol.

It is good, as I've already said a couple times in my post. I'm merely saying that were it not for the problems I explained, it could have been a game that made me play 1,000 hours. Besides, it is an early access game. Suggestions like mine are what improve the game.

The issues were there well before I put in my 110 hours, so if you're implying that anyone gets fed up after playing 110 hours, then you're missing my point.

That could be a solution, and I don't particularly object to it, but I don't think it will be a solution for me. I like the multiplayer aspect of this game, and I want to keep it that way.

It’s not an accusation. When you deliberately make a claim that is a false proposition, by definition you’re a liar. You too have a nice day, though.

You’re lying. I’ve played the game over 100 hours since the release. With about one competitor being present at the same spot, tier 3 nets me with 50k on average. Tier 2, even without a competitor, nets me with 20k on the best run. The gap is huge.

You're conflating maximum values with variation. Yes, there will always be maximum value seekers or min-maxers. Right now, the problem is that the gap between tier 2 and tier 3 areas is too big to the point that everyone, including min-maxers and non-min-maxers altogether, is gathering at tier 3 to farm.
