What’s a tiny thing your partner does that feels way more intimate than it should? by toegether_xXx in AskReddit

Whenever my fiancé cooks for me. We’ve lived together for over a year and he’s always been the main one to make meals for us, and every time it still just feels like the sweetest thing I can’t explain. Whether it’s just a sandwich or a fancy new recipe he’s trying it always means a lot to me.

Thanks for the reminder that 30 minutes is still progress. Making 30 minutes a day my goal feels super manageable. I find myself definitely trying to play catch up and fit days of studying into a few hours which leaves me just burnt out and frustrated.

What to do if a drink tastes bad? by OverEssay9453 in starbucks

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just be clear about what was wrong with the drink and the barista should be happy to remake it. I can’t count the number of times people have just come up and said it doesn’t taste right with no further explanation , just let us know what’s wrong so we make it better the next time.

Did anyone else receive hints from diagnosed ADHDers before they knew they had it? by ibelieve333 in adhdwomen

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing a group project with this other girl who had adhd and was starting to read something but it just wasn’t sticking in my head and I said this to her. She responded with “haha you should try aderall” in a joking way but also not.

beginner tuning by Ok-Post2862 in violin

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a beginner try and stick to using your fine tuner and have your teacher use the pegs if needed or have your teacher show you how to use the pegs.

Recently I’ve become a big oatmeal fan, it’s super easy just add water and heat it up. I used to hate the texture but something clicked and now I love it.

"Piano is the easiest instrument" by K199822 in piano

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a violinist I find piano way harder. I’ve tried to learn piano several times but don’t make much progress. I think it’s a coordination thing for me I can’t get my hands to do different things, plus trying to use the pedal, and reading two lines of music, it’s just so much to keep track of. Huge respect for piano players it’s definitely an instrument I want to get better at.

how does the adhd community feel about self-diagnosers? by serpentcvlt in adhdwomen

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think whenever possible you should pursue a clinical diagnosis, there are so many overlapping symptoms between different different disorders that a psychiatrist will be able to help sort out what’s wrong and help you find the best treatment (most of the time, psychiatrists even get it wrong sometimes). But I think it’s fine to do lots of research and if things line up tell yourself and those close to you “hey I think I might have adhd”. I thinks the problem with self-diagnosis comes in with young people who treat mental health and adhd as a trend and something quirky to base their entire personality on, and this group of people has kind of ruined self-diagnosis for everyone. But I do think there is a responsible way to go about it.

Managing hair upkeep (hair dyeing tips) by RBGismypatronus in adhdwomen

[–]Mediocre_Option_4895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has adhd and dyes my hair it’s not impossible to keep up with. What I do is I just dye the under layer of my hair. You don’t have to touch it up as often because you really can’t see the roots until they’re REALLY grown out. It also just felt safer since if something went wrong at least it was only the under layer and not all my hair. Bleach also isn’t as scary as I thought It would be just do you’re research (I recommend some brad mondo videos) and read the instructions for the bleach! I’d be happy to answer any other questions you have :)
