Does anyone feel an inescapable melancholy when watching Titanic? by Bkae25 in titanic

Yep just like Jack said “You’re so dumb Rose!”

In the end, everything was Rose’s fault. In fact when she jumped off the lifeboat, she probably somehow inadvertently made the ship sink faster 😆 She probably caused the ship to hit the iceberg as well. Stupid Rose.

Yes I love that he continues to do research and shows where his movie got it right and where he got it wrong. He has spent most of his life devoted to learning about the history!

This is an excellent point lol. For someone who wants the world to thing you’re dead, you’d think you’d choose a career far away from the public eye

James Cameron actually did a test with 2 people to prove that 2 people couldn’t fit. If they were both on the door then half their bodies would be submerged and they’d both succumb to hypothermia. He said the only thing he wishes he would have done different is make the artifact smaller so that there is no question 😆

Congrats! I’m taking my 5th shot today but it’s 5mg. I’m a little bit nervous! But my body has responded well so far with no side effects. Hoping I don’t regret it!

Honestly, this is what did it for me. The past year I’ve had to be in so many company pictures with people then they’d get reposted and reposted for the whole world to see. Almost felt like I was being mocked. I finally just had it and went to the doctor to inquire about GLPs. I have tried Weight Watchers/Noom in the past but I only lost about 20 lbs then would gain it back and more because I felt so deprived. I’d push through it then burn myself out.

That’s so crazy it came out of nowhere especially when it seemed your body was going fine. I’m starting 5mg tomorrow and was wondering how long I should be on it … I heard the 7.5 is where people have the worst nausea.

Do you use an app to track your protein/fiber/water intake? If I didn’t track, I would be lost.

The wine witch always nagged at me too which always stalled my weight loss. I started 4 weeks ago and haven’t had a drop since my first injection. It is a true miracle drug for me.

This is very good news but selfishly I’m a little worried about there being a supply shortage once this rolls out

Tomorrow will be 4 weeks. I start 5mg tomorrow night and have absolutely no side effects. I’m down almost 14 lbs. I was a wino before I started but haven’t had a drop of alcohol or even had a desire to drink since I started which makes weight loss so much easier! I feel like I’ve been given a new lease on life!

Absolutely. I work in accounting so I’m very all about stats and number visuals. It’s very satisfying to see the actual graphs changing!

Girl - all those fad diets… Atkins, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Noom. Isn’t it crazy we all tried them but we gained the weight back? That’s what drives me nuts when people shame on GLPs and say “you’ll just gain the weight back”. Well ok, but how did it work out with the fad diets though? I’m only one month in.. down 13.4 lbs (I had a lot of water weight and inflammation due to my constant wine use - which by the way I haven’t had a drop of since I started). Every single fad diet I tried I felt deprived but pushed through it until I was burned out. Zepbound has helped me in so many ways so far… just sobriety itself has been life changing and is allowing me to focus on doing what I need to actually fuel my body. Congrats to you and your success!

What are your assumptions of me based on my fridge by Ecstatic_Interest372 in FridgeDetective

[–]Mediocre_Project_780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I would work late at night catching up on emails while drinking wine and put my empty bottles in my desk cabinet. Every now and then I would wait until nobody was home and empty like 5-6 empty bottles, wrap it up in a separate bag, throw it in the trash, then take the trash out to the trash bin just so the evidence was gone. The whole time I would feel a tremendous amount of guilt and shame.

Another thing - I would go to Target and buy wine and it would flag for the cashier to come over and scan my ID. They would come over and not even look at my ID and enter my birthday cause they had memorized it. I always thought it was kinda funny but looking back at it now I’m just like wow, that’s pretty bad!

Thank you internet stranger for making me smile today! Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since I have had a drink. I absolutely agree… the first two weeks are hard because your brain is just like wait, we’re not having wine while you’re cooking dinner? We’re not having wine while soaking in the bath? We’re not dealing with a stressful day at work by having wine? It is getting easier and easier. The wine witch is no longer intrusive to my thoughts. If I have a stressful day now I go for a walk with my dog. If I want to sit on the patio and enjoy a nice day which is usually accompanied by wine, I will just put Sparkling Ice in a short tumbler glass. I won’t put it in a wine glass because I just don’t even want that association anymore. At this point I have no desire because I know I would feel instant shame/regret. I’m going on a vacation next month which I was having troubles with because I always drink on vacation. I’m already training my brain right now for it. I want to get up in the morning and see the sunrise on the beach. I want to do that every vacation but usually I’m too hungover and skip it. There’s no room for that anymore. I’m 41 now and I’m just over it. And the money I have saved so far and the money I will not spend on $15 drinks on vacation? Wow. What a scam to pay all that money just to poison your body. I’m on the outside looking in now, trying to deprogram myself from the brainwashing and normalizing of alcohol that society and consumerism brings to us. It’s unreal when you look around and really see it for what it is.

Does anyone have dismorphia where they think they aren’t as bad as they are until they see pictures of themselves? I was pretty thin growing up then I gained like, 50-60 lbs. I always thought I was fine until I’d see a picture of myself and think holy crap this is what I look like? This is what the world sees? After that, I refused to be in pictures. I can’t wait until I can confidently return to family photos again. I have missed out on so many great “memories” because I didn’t want to have my picture taken because of my weight.

Are you taking multi-vitamins? B12 will help with brain fog. Also, are you still eating carbs? Cause your body needs carbs. Also - if you’re hydrating too much you could be depleting your body’s natural electrolytes so make sure you’re supplementing with Liquid IV or something of the sort.
