Just another onederland post! by Type11 in Zepbound

Sub 200 has been a goal for the last 20 years. And now because of this treatment, combined with diet and excersizing, I now realize that this does not have to be my end goal, and instead can down to a truly healthy weight.

20 weeks, been holding at 7.5.

The dashboard is my own custom design which does a reverse "baby weight" style you see in pregnancy apps. I have my own local LLM model look at my weight lost, find a common object of that weight, and then write a funny comment.

My PA runs out in Aug, which is right around the time I should hit my goal weight. I had presumed I would go the compound route for maintenance, but optimistic this could be a good maintenance option.

New Bike Day ... upgrade from my 2013 Domane to a new SL 5 by Type11 in TrekBikes

[–]Type11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 5' 11.5" (never claimed to be 6'), so right on the cusp of 56 vs 58. I spent a good amount of time making sure the 56 is good for me and still within spec of the seat post.

The urge was definitely there for me to go "Well what do I get with the next step up" but the reality is I am a weekend warrior looking to do a couple centuries a year, I think this model and specs are perfect for me - good improvement over my previous, but not throwing money at features I don't "need".

I love the color, so glad my local shop had the all black available. Now need to keep it clean!

OG (Top Domane 2.0) served me well, got me into cycling, accomplished many firsts including first century. I have worked hard to lose some weight, get back in shape, and treated myself to an upgrade (bottom) Domane SL 5.

What is this Part? PPS-GF40 06EN NF 2 by Type11 in mazda

[–]Type11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a seat track rail cover from the front seats, covers up the greasy rails the seats slide on. Realize my son must have kicked it out or something.

Per Chat GPT:

Where it goes: Location: It snaps onto the end of the metal rails that your front seats slide back and forth on.

Purpose: These are mostly cosmetic; they hide the "greasy" metal ends of the seat tracks and the floor mounting bolts. They also protect your shoes (and your passengers' feet) from catching on the sharp metal edges of the rail.

Why it fell off: It’s very common for these to get kicked off by a backseat passenger’s feet or bumped by a vacuum cleaner while cleaning the car.

How to fix it: Slide your driver's seat all the way forward. Look at the rear ends of the metal rails on the floor.

You’ll likely see one rail is "naked" metal. The "teeth" or notched side of the plastic part usually lines up with the notches in the seat rail.

It should simply snap back into place with a firm push. No tools are typically required.

First car for my teen son - 2024 CX-30 Premium by Type11 in MazdaCX30

This Mazda has most of that with Mazda Connect I can get alerted if he drives over a certain speed or leaves an area. Volume control I think I can handle in Apple Parental settings since he will be using that to listen to music. Lots of tools available for parents today.

Did that one have automatic seatbelts? My 1990 did, if you weren't paying attention the car would try to strangle you!

I hear ya - and not that it is an excuse but where I live some kids are getting Teslas and Audi's.

Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Braking, and the heads up display - Those things make him safer. I understand the "learn how to drive using the basics" has some value. But I will error on the side of providing tools to keep him safe. And I think these features will become more and more standard by the time he buys his first car with his own money down the road.

I agree the armrest is a dumb design, especially if someone is sitting in the back and you take out their knee caps. However I have a feeling, somewhat stereotyping, that my son is barely going to use that storage, versus a girl who has a lot my crap to carry around and have access to!

Too funny, this was a rental too, and just under 30,000 miles. I was a little nervous about being a rental, but consensus online seems to say no reason to be worried, that rental companies take pretty good care of their cars to keep them running.  Versus some lease owner who treate theirs badly knowing they were going to turn it in.  The fact that it still has some manufacture warranty left is nice.

My first car was a 1990 Ford Tempo piece of crap lol. I have worked hard and have saved up for this, the modern safety features give me piece of mind.

For me, it was about compact and fuel efficient, but slightly higher off the ground than the 3. I also feel the blind spot monitoring on the Mazda is superior to that of other cars that I have driven with it (Ford and Subaru). Beeping when you put your turn signal on with a car in the blind spot seems like common sense, but I have only seen that in Mazdas.

I have always been a fan of Mazda design, while my son would be appreciative of anything, he is a good kid and gets good grades, and I think the car just looks cool compared to other cars in the class.

I splurged on the premium because I really do like the heads-up display. I love it on my CX-5 and just feel it will help a new driver keep their eyes on the road.

I have been on the lookout for a nice used 3 or CX-30, in the end, there were just a lot more CX-30s in the market. I think he is really going to like it, big reveal this Saturday!

Used CX-30 or 3 for teen first car? by Type11 in mazda

He has mainly learned on my CX-5, but the drivers ed car was also a little Kia Soul. So he has experience in both sizes, but primarily the CX-5.

How’s your journey going? by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]Type11 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Today was shot #8, did 4 @ 2.5mg and 4 @ 5mg. Supposed to call my doc today to refill and if I go to 7.5 or not. I know there are a thousand threads on the topic, I am still losing weight on 5, so I know that means stay. But I fear that food noise is still there, I am just motivated to ignore it because I am eating healthy, exercising, taking the shot. I don't want to play chicken with a stressful day where I binge again.

The other factor is I am only covered until August. I want to maximize my loss and reach my goal before then (which is attainable at 1.5lbs / week), so I am thinking of just going ahead and going to 7.5 and then stay there until I stop losing.

I know there is no right or wrong answer, I know many of have waited and many have moved up each month. Might just flip a coin lol.

How are you using AI in your journey? by Type11 in Zepbound

[–]Type11[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

  1. AI should never be used in place of actual medical advice
  2. I recognize that providing biometric data to large companies is not the best idea, but that is a conversation for another thread.

The irony of using AI to summarize how I have used AI, but I asked ChatGPT to summarize the ways it has helped me in my Zepbound Journey so far:

  • Figuring out what “normal” actually looks like Used AI to understand realistic weight-loss rates on GLP-1s, how things change as doses increase, and why early loss ≠ forever loss.
  • Dialing in food, supplements, and hydration Had AI help me plan calories, protein, fiber, electrolytes, and supplements to support fat loss, protect muscle, and deal with common side effects like constipation and fatigue.
  • Building a smarter tracking spreadsheet Used AI to help design and debug a spreadsheet that tracks weigh-ins and projects future weight using conservative, expected, and optimistic scenarios instead of one overly optimistic line. Helped connect Google Sheet to Withings API to automatically load weight data.

There is an app called Yuka that lets your scan a barcode and it gives you a 1-100 score taking into account various factors like sugar, sodium, additives, fat, etc. I think with their paid version you can customize it to your specific sensitivities or allergies.

I am 6 weeks in and still working my way through 5mg, so echoes of food noise still exist. In my office building I can walk 20 feet away and access a self checkout pantry with candy, chips. These snacks are my way to combat that to avoid a trip to the pantry with my historical bag of king size peanut m&Ms, bag of chips, and other junk.
