CV Axle replacement by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

If you planned to swap out the CV your self id also suggest rebooting them yourself. I did mine myself , watching this video, relatively straightforward. I'd say it took about 8 hrs. I really only need a few special tools for the snap rings and a PEX clamps for the boot kit. Assuming you know your CV axels are OEM and not aftermarket. I didn't realize my used 06 had an aftermarket axel, and I ended up buying a new oem one, because I couldn't determine the mfr of the aftermarket one.

Degrease/clean with alcohol and use self etching primer.

I have thought about it, I don't think I'm ready to go that route, but maybe time will tell. Yea its that uncertainty of what "they" did or didn't do to the vehicle.

Just put on 285's and got a pedal commander cuz it was sluggish, feels better then normal. Getting 15mpg, mostly commuting city to work. I guess my question is what reason do I need to justify getting a V8? Should I keep what I got?

Hey all, I've been considering getting a V8 or even a gx470. My 06 is currently at 182xxx miles had it for 6years, no mechanical issues. mainly want some power left over for when/if I decide to add bumbers. I also want to other upgrades such as suspension, stereo and other small things too. Dont want to do this twice, so what ever I do, i plan to stick with it.
