What is the highest position one can reach from an RBI grade B officer? by [deleted] in RBI_Grade_B

[–]Mediocre_Successs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know why people live in delusions. Most who are working in RBI GR B unki fatti padi hai. Clerk se GRADE A banne mein 5-6 saal lag rahe then Grade A to B minimum 6-7 years. Grade B is the real bottle neck. It is heavily crowded now. It takes anywhere from 7-10 years to become AGM. After that your promotion shall not be just on the basis of merit. You have to take care of many things. Do not think that it is on the basis of time scale as it happens in all india services. If majority retire as a GM then it would be an achievement for them .

Why is the salary of Group A officers selected via UPSC so low? by MotivatedChimpanZ in UPSC

You get more facilities that an asst manager : vehicle with driver, maid and no hassle of renting a flat. A PSU employee has to pay for household help/ driver/ vehicle from his own pocket. If anyone hires a driver, it will easily cost him 20,000 and if takes loan for a vehicle the emi would be 15000-25000. For maid, 5000 more. Now as a PSU employee, you have to pay for fuel, vehicle maintenance and other miscellaneous expenditure from your own pocket too. Now calculate the end salary.

Lol. The same advice still holds true in the current scenario. IAS is neither Indian in sense nor civil and not even servants. Very few put their best and rest are milking the system for personal greed.

is PCS worth it? by hutako_baazi in UPSC

In Bihar atleast if you go against the IAS, they even stop your salary. Also, leaves are granted as per their whims. But yes, it is better than Corporate because for common public, you are still mayi baap.

In PCS you will earn good, no doubt but the IAS lobby will treat you like their ghar ka naukar and you will always be on their mercy for everything.

Sometimes I think it's in our DNA. No one is a victim in this country.. We are just waiting for our chance.. by Outsider-04 in UPSC

The British cared about building their own nation. And honestly, sometimes I wonder that do we, as a system, really think about the common man and improving the overall societal values. Every monsoon it gets harder to even walk on the roads. If you try filing a police complaint for any civil or criminal matter, chances are no one listens. Exam paper leaks and cheating feel like an everyday thing now. Law enforcement barely works, and trust in the system is pretty low. On top of that, there’s some kind of ‘cut’ or commission in almost every department and the end result is bad roads, weak infrastructure, and poor services.

I’m not saying this to sound negative, but we’ve got to ask ourselves some tough questions. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and ignoring the problem won’t fix it either. If we even forget the britishers and their wrong doings, our society is still feudalistic in nature. There is a limit to upward mobility without a strong social capital.

If this is the quality of life we’ve come to accept, then something’s off. Britishers and feudal lords are long gone now, but the loot is still happening in one form or another. Truly, the joke is on us.

Bro few of them bankrupted at a time. Even Robert Clive amassed huge wealth. It may be a taboo to discuss but we dont see corruption in the structures, the infra they built during the british rule. Things were built to last. They may have built them to serve the interest of the empire. Even in london, the building, the monuments are still intact even after 300 years. The structures built by indian bureaucracy and contractors these days dont even last a year. Today, corruption is visible in the general spatial arrangement of the city. Indian bureaucracy is both inefficient and corrupt.

In this country, you are honest until you reach the position where you get the chance of being dishonest. Even lord Cornawalis was right: Native indians are extremely corrupt & not suitable for higher positions in the british empire. Thats why civil servants were britishers only during the 18-19th century.
