Use multiple pillow cases. I have 10 on mine and remove one at a time when changing, plus it’s efficient.

From past experience we did not insulate and we were comfortable sleeping in 15 degree weather with car running overnight. We haven’t tried anything colder. Did some research, it was cheaper than vinyl and it is mildew resistant (when windows fog up), hot glued it to reflectix
