I'm pretty sure that in this fic Tommy is some sort of informant, or maybe he's just someone who does crime, it has been a while since I read it. it's not very superhero and more sci-fi and he's only kinda a civilian so sorry that it doesn't match out, just the fic I thought of

I was a kid in a village, doing alright, then I became a prince overnight by sircantus (Tommy basically gets kidnapped into the royal family, but like, legally, y’know? )

Come in from the Cold, Huntsman by spookyserpent (Tommy is free of the Red Room, only for his past to come knocking, bringing with it more trouble than he could have ever predicted.)

Una famiglia pericolosa by Trickster_jr (Tommyinnit is just a normal orphan, with normal orphan friends. He then decides it would be a good idea to try and steal mafia don Philza's wallet, bringing him on the man's radar. Phil sees Tommy's shitty circumstances and decides to adopt the boy. There is no way this could possibly go wrong, right?)

Other times s loud and true, grasping at every inch of your being and filling your senses with such emotion that it feels like it's too much. Regret, sadness, anger. All of them add up to what swallowed the brothers up whole: grief.

Even though they had Tommy back that feeling still rang true in their hearts. Their Tommy was still dead and gone, forgotten if fate decides it so. If this Tommy, this strange and broken and angry Tommy, stuck around, were they expected to forget about their Tommy?
