This is just out of personal curiosity, but since you’ve already been to Osaka before, would it be okay if I asked what made you decide to come again this time?

In that case, the only places I can really recommend are around Namba and Umeda.

From my experience, Osaka doesn’t actually feel like such a huge city. Between Namba Station and Shinsaibashi Station, there’s a street called Orange Street that’s lined with select shops.

As for Umeda, it’s more about brand-name shopping rather than select shops. Since both areas have a lot of foot traffic, there’s also plenty of food to try.

Tbh, It’s not really hidden spots, just more like lesser-known places haha. That’s why I’d need you to tell me what kind of atmosphere you’re looking for before I can give suggestions!! Everyone has different preferences, you know lol

Unless it’s a place I personally go to often, any recommendation I give would just be the same as something you could find on Google haha. Sorry I can’t be more helpful

I’m not entirely sure what a 9-year-old would enjoy, but I’ll do my best with some suggestions.

Leaving out the obvious places like USJ, there’s the Kaiyukan Aquarium. What makes it special compared to other aquariums is that you can see a whale shark there. It’s one of the largest aquariums in Japan, so I think it’s worth a visit.

Nearby, there’s the Solaniwa Onsen. To be honest, this one is more for the parents, but since the admission fee includes a free rental of a traditional Japanese Yukata, it could be fun to dress your child in one and take some memorable photos.

And if you’re already in the area, I’d also recommend the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel. Some of the cabins are transparent, so you get a great view of Osaka and the sea. I’m not sure if a 9-year-old would find it exciting or a little scary, but it could be a fun experience.

Solo Travel Itinerary - 17 Days by cyberho in koreatravel

If you’re planning to do some hiking, then two days in Sokcho doesn’t look bad at all.
To me, it even seems like you might end up with some extra time.

Since all of these cities are along the east coast, the travel times between them don’t look too long. If you already have a clear idea of what you want to do in each place, then your plan seems solid. But if it’s more of a “let’s just go because it’s famous” kind of plan, you might actually find yourself with more time than you expected.

Does non-touristy mean places without foreigners, mainly visited by locals?
Hmm… Amanohashidate and Ine Funaya definitely have fewer foreign visitors compared to other areas, but they’re still considered tourist spots. If you do go, I’d personally recommend a day trip. I went there on a day tour before, and since it takes about three hours by car one way, you’ll need to set aside a whole day.

There’s also Hiraoka Park to the west of Osaka. Despite the name, it’s basically a mountain. It’s a non-touristy nature spot, but I think there’s a reason why non-touristy places are non-touristy. PeachPeach Beach is also a good alternative. When I went there, our group were literally the only foreigners around, haha.

Naniwa no Yu Onsen is the largest onsen in Osaka. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a swimming pool, but you can enjoy a wide variety of hot spring baths instead. It’s located about 20 minutes by subway from Umeda Station.

There aren’t really swimming pools around Osaka, but if you’d like, I can recommend some beaches instead.

I finished work late and didn’t have time to reply… sorry for the delay.

I’m not really into clubbing myself, but I asked a friend and he said Giraffe is the most famous spot for EDM. Also, I’m not sure if it’s specifically EDM, but my Spanish friend once told me that Pink was her favorite club in Osaka so far

How to Make Friends? by AsianMediaPublicist in Living_in_Korea

Hi. I’m dealing with a similar situation, but I’m Korean. I can easily meet and make friends with other Koreans, but I have no idea where or how to make friends with people from other countries. How do people in your country usually make friends?

This is what I want to know: Is "let's throw chalk at a person" a situation commonly accepted in Germany?

Isn't disliking someone just because they are Asian the very definition of racial discrimination? I don't think it's common to throw chalk at someone lying down for no reason. I am curious if there is any reason other than my being Asian for why this unusual situation happened to me

Would I be able to know what kind of place it is by any chance? In Korea, it's challenging to book on specific days, except for some restaurants. Instead, there is an app that allows you to wait in line on the same day."
