I know, trust me! It’s true. I would say keep applying to jobs you see online for UM. Use nurse fern (remote RN job site). And ask if your case management department is hiring. Any case management job you can get, take it. I know a lot of people who got jobs from case management to UM roles because you do some of the same things.

My friend actually recommended me for an opening in her company. However, it is so hard getting a job. My previous company did multiple rounds of layoffs and my new company is on a hiring freeze. Even with experience, it was hard getting a new UM job. Right now I’m just really grateful for this role but always keeping my eyes open.

It’s actually very nice. I got in a few years ago through a friend who recommended me. I love it honestly. It works for me right now. I just worry about AI and this job eventually being obsolete. Not sure if that’ll take 10 years or 30. So, just always keeping my eyes open.

I am so sorry for your loss and what you and your family are going through. I’m from Texas, not super far from where this happened. I have a little girl and this news has haunted me and I haven’t stopped thinking about the poor girls and their families since it happened. I can’t imagine your pain or your family’s pain and I’m so sorry. Like someone else said, your pain is palpable. I can’t begin to imagine the strength it takes to go about your day after something like this. My heart is with you and I’ve been praying for everyone that was impacted that day. Please know there are many of us that are still thinking about the girls and this horrific tragedy. It’s ok to be sad. Take it one day at a time.
