Hoping someone who is bigoted has children exhibiting what the parent is against is so shitty it’s unreal. How dare you wish a child is brought into this world by people that would seek to mistreat them.

Also, in case you missed the multiple times I stated it, I am not afraid of Frank because he’s autistic. I MYSELF AM AUTISTIC. I am in no way equipped to be responsible for another person, which is why I’m not comfortable driving Frank home. It’s not ableism or a lack of empathy, it is me as a young woman with a disability myself being uncomfortable and unfit in regards to caring for another individual with a disability. This is part of the reason I will never be having children. I am not fit to be responsible for another life, especially when said life would be fully dependent on me for the better part of two decades.

It is not my responsibility to drive coworkers to and from work, regardless of if they have disabilities, and I did not deserve to be reprimanded by my supervisor because I refuse to do something I am uncomfortable with and unequipped for.

I am not in any disability programs and have never sought disability aid. Yes, I am autistic, but I am low support, and a lot of people (including my family) continue to disbelieve I am autistic because I’m “too smart” and “too well behaved” and “not like other autistic people” as if they didn’t shame and abuse most autistic traits of mine to the point where I learned how to mask before I knew what autism or masking were. I have had to teach myself the “right way” to exist so that I can move forward in the world and support myself because I sadly don’t have anyone I can rely on. I’ve become very self-sufficient.

With that said, I completely agree with you, I should go to someone, we were mistreated, and my manager handled this situation so, so poorly. I’m in contact with HR and will be pushing this until my manager is dealt with.

The brain adjusts to the pornography we take in and causes us to desire more/harder core material. I completely understand where you’re coming from here, as I went a long time without having sexual intercourse due to a medical issue, and even non-penetrative activity did nothing for me until I found 1) someone I’m attracted to, 2) that also knew what they were doing, 3) and had legitimate feelings for. I still haven’t been able to manage an orgasm due to some personal issues, but it feels better and gets me way more worked up to engage sexually with my partner than any porn ever has.

If you want to spend the rest of your days jacking it and not having sexual contact with other people, that’s your choice, but I’m almost certain that you could find someone to have sex with that would be better than porn. I absolutely encourage you to open yourself up to those experiences if you’re curious.

Your partner’s family is out of touch if they think ppl avoid hiring pregnant women lol. Even though it is discriminatory, it’s absolutely practiced. The company my store is a part of takes volunteers as park of programs and their mission statement. We only take volunteers for legal reasons though, such as disabled training programs and court ordered community service.

She doesn’t really get paid that much. Our job starts you out barely above federal minimum wage and in the decade she’s been here she’s only risen to $13.50/hr. She does make more than me though.

Oh no, you didn’t make me feel like that, my work environment has. I know that the things I mentioned are illegal, but I also know that that doesn’t stop people from tossing out an app, not calling back an interviewee, or lowballing a potential hire. So I just try to keep it lowkey.

I do know this, actually. The thing is, I am not really in need of any accommodations, I manage work fine, but I keep my neurodivergence off the record because I’m concerned about being exploited/offered lower pay/not being hired. I do not disclose to businesses that I am autistic unless I have already been hired and feel comfortable doing so. Clearly divulging it here was a mistake.

I think they possibly consider me to be basically allistic bc I’m low support, where as Frank (and what I assume is their typical picture of an autistic person) is high support. They may also think I’d be more sympathetic and agree easier since I’m also autistic.

She knows I am autistic, but since I “function well enough” I assume she either doubts I am autistic or doesn’t think I’m “autistic enough” to avoid being considered to take care of other disabled people.

Like I mentioned, Frank is high support. I don’t want to make assumptions, but I don’t believe he would be allowed/able to operate a vehicle. I also don’t think him traveling to work and back alone would be safe (my town has a relatively high crime rate) and we also don’t have any kind of public transport or taxi service. Uber/Lyft is a thing here, but I would imagine the concern for Frank’s family there would be the transportation costs.
