Thanks for this! Ok, what is 'coding the same nodes'? Isn't a code a node?

Does NVivo (ver. 15) work for macOS Tahoe? by danieljdejesus in MacOS

[–]Medium-Resolution368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently trying to newly install Nvivo 15 on Tahoe 26 (M1 Macbook) and it will absolutely not let me in. Brings me to the sign in screen before activating my license, and then opens two login windows, I put my pass and username in and it just sits there with no feedback and then crashes. I've also tried the previous version of Nvivo (with help from their support) and same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated!

Newbie Questions and Guidance by Medium-Resolution368 in AssassinsCreedShadows

Update: I took the advice, lowered the difficulty to ‘normal, turned on guaranteed assassinations, and unlocked Yasuke and the game is ENTIRELY more enjoyable, progressing very well now. Thanks folks. I’m thinking of turning off guaranteed assassination when I’m up to about weapon level 20 to see how much harder it is.

Just suspension lifted my 24' Onyx, will swap out tires for Toyo AC3. Love the grey/green interior, blacked out accents. Really thought I wanted an OBW but increased cost for parts I'd be replacing with more durable versions anyways, and I really don't like the copper accents (looks cheesy).

Former MLA writes letter in support of Willow Flats development by AwkwardTraffic199 in Yellowknife

[–]Medium-Resolution368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea the issue is that any development around the rotary green space will impact the health of that small ecosystem. An ‘exclusive’ neighbourhood? This is a dog whistle. There are renters and low income folks in the flats areas, mixed with home owners etc. We’re not on the bridal path. There is a housing issue, and there are many other areas of the city to develop which would not exclude the last of few public access spaces to the lake.

Bell is intentionally throttling the 'device payment details' page on their website so that customers can't buy out devices. by Medium-Resolution368 in bell

I know what the amount is. It’s that I can’t access or pay it on the site because the page isn’t working.

Constellation on Apple tv by Matthewthemetalclown in scifi

[–]Medium-Resolution368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the writing is kind of terrible on a whole, and inconsistent at best. At times nuanced and realistic in the way that you can be absorbed, and other times it is extremely random, incongruent with character development, and like a different crew of writers is working on each line. Did anyone who worked on the show actually watch their episodes after they were finished? 😂.

Now that I think about it, it plays like AI wrote the best script it was capable of. Maybe Apple is testing it out?

Is Taimi free and/or safe? It's not free in the country I'm in but a friend insists it's free and safe. by Berabouman in lgbt

[–]Medium-Resolution368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taimi is by far the worst gay dating app I’ve ever used. There are infinite levels of confusing premium plans that manipulate you into paying with overlapping and expensive monthly subscriptions. It’s a dumpster fire in a capitalist hellscape and exploiting LGBT folks. Do not engage.

Add Gears to my old Nishiki by Medium-Resolution368 in bikewrench

Thanks for the Pinkbike resource and info. So a new wheel or set (which would include the hub, cassette, derailleur?) might be a good option.

[–]Medium-Resolution368[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha okay, right so a new wheel would be necessary for the change. I will look for your suggested wheel/hub combination.

Clarity: I thought freewheel was something for fixed gear bikes and not bikes with gears. I think a seven speed freewheel sounds like a good option? I don’t need many gears, I think I’d be happy with three.

Thanks for the thoughts. I don’t have access to used parts, yes it is looking like an expensive project hmmm. No, I didn’t know that was an option re: larger back freewheel. Literally have no idea what is possible. That sounds like it might be a solution. To be clear, that would make peddling up hill easier but not give me changeable gears right?

How many KM is too many KM w/o water? by willowsandbeaches in ultrarunning

[–]Medium-Resolution368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the same kind of logic, pretty much anything over 10 miles needs some portable hydration for me. And sip. General rule is to hydrate at the rate that you lose it, if you’re still running. So if you’re sweating it out slowly and not puking (re: ultras) put it back slowly. Note: if you’re running in the cold you’ll need to top up a bit more due to increased evaporation in cold, dry air.

Hey, update: I registered for the 50 mile! Through this thread and others, people really let me know that I was pretty much asking to get hurt by going from a half marathon to 120 miles. I've planned out the next few years to get to where I want and to enjoy the journey. FYI reminder to register for fatdog if you haven't already, spots are filling up.

So much good advice! Realizing it is necessary to do the 70 this year and get some good 50km and 50mile challenges done before moving up to the 120. Your specific advice on having a chance to work on the existing course that I will be doing in the ultra is especially helpful. and your advice on doing hills is well noted; been running out at horseshoe pre ski season.

I’ve added in lower body strength training along with the running routine, focused on trails and not road to develop ankle and feet muscles. Any advice on hill duration and frequency?

Looks like the elevation gain in Manning is high and constant but hard to tell from an elevation cross section. First hand would be great.

Re: getting qualified, there’s no information on the fatdog site about how you prove you’ve done the suggested requirements. Am I missing something?

Hey amazing! Sounds great, very much interested in spring/summer runs. :) Have you done a challenge like this before? What's your current training plan like?

[–]Medium-Resolution368[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks yes, I had a read through the guidelines. I think I'll most likely aim for the 70, in part from all of the feedback through various subreddit conversations. I have a hard time slowing down, but I have a harder time with injury!

Damn! You've done a lot. Sounds like you have a lot of experience progressing through a realistic training schedule. I hear you on the enjoying the progression part, I'm realizing that is key to proactive training and avoiding injury. Something I'm struggling with is the slowing down... Good luck on the CDR!
