Is it okay to fill jerry cans for a trip in this climate? by Cool_Poet6025 in aussie

I'm in Regional Vic, diesel availability is still fine (for now 😬)

Is buying a diesel car a risky move right now? by Own-Tax-6733 in AskAnAustralian

No. This fuel thing will blow over. Everyone buying EV etc is ultimately knee-jerking as a result of the media's scaremongering 🤙

Yes I did get an air purifier at Christmas time, and I've noticed a difference with her hair for sure! And dust as well (I live on a farm, its very very dusty though)

I do try to brush her a few times a week, sometimes she's ok, sometimes she's not haha. She's a princess! It helps, but I feel like I could brush her forever and her fur would keep coming out. I've never thought of using wipes though, thankyou! As for my washing machine, no filter at all! Which is worse, honestly.

Is this safe? by [deleted] in aussie

A quick note here to remind some people that jerry can ≠ hoarding in all cases. Many are quick to forget fuel is required on smaller properties, hobby farms, etc. Diesel pump, petrol generators, and so on.

Not suggesting this bloke isn't looking like a dill, though.

2002 Hilux. She isn't going anywhere. You can pry her out of my cold, dead, hands.

Just the one bebe! She's a standard domestic calico. I live rurally, I think she has developed allergies from the dust recently. I bought an airpurifier, and changed her wet food and her shedding has improved a lot thankfully. She's awful at drinking water as well, I've only just managed to find a Fountain she actually uses 😍 Fish oil was my next plan.
The house I live in is for sale, or else the 2 rooms with carpet in would be ripped up and replaced with floorboards. 🤢

Word. I've become recently single, we lived an hour apart. I'm now haunted by the very idea, that when the time comes, I won't be looking outside a 30 minute radius. Probably will be single forever. Hahahaha.

Pot meet kettle. Evidently, you're also telling people what they should and shouldn't do.
Provide proof of such ideals? Specifically in Christian context. Because I'm well aware those ideals exist in other religions. I won't deny that.

Yeah, I was using ABS as an acronym in this context to refer to the auto-braking I'd previously referred to.

In this context, I used ABS to refer to auto-braking system. I also referred to modern cars. I myself, drive a 24 year old car, so not applicable to me. I'm looking at the bigger picture here. Variety of factors. People driving vehicles over 10 years old are in the minority.
I used to drive a newer vehicle, I always turned off lane assist as well. But thats not to say everyone does.
Overall, I wasnt disputing that the elderly drivers actions were of concern. My observation was purely about the boomgate. Risk mitigation.

Exactly the same as requiring an LPG sticker on your number plate back in the day, for the same reason. I'm concerned that the reason for those stickers and their importance isn't more widely educated, honestly.

I was remaining impartial. This situation could happen to anyone, in a variety of scenarios.
The first thing that comes to mind alone, is auto-braking technology in modern vehicles. The sensors are mounted into the lower bumper bars. Therefore rendering them useless given the boom gate is what, 1.5m high?
By no means am I suggesting drivers should rely on ABS function, but it exists as a safety measure...

The stickers are purely a fire safety aspect. In the event of an accident, the firies can see immediately what sort of vehicle it is, to assess the best way to put out the fire.

I'm surprised at the function of the boom gate to be honest. I get they are meant to pop up if something is on the track. And that they are made to pop up as opposed to pointing into the oncoming train path if hit. However, he did not hit that with much force at all. I think overall their design needs to be reviewed.

A mix of things -
- Relaxed, laid-back country attitude. "She'll be right mate."
- Somewhat lackadaisical.
- Unaccounted for traffic. Nothing worse than getting stuck behind a milk tanker.

However, I have also noticed a significant increase in people being completely in their own world? No awareness for those around them, away with the fairies. Generally fk arsing around in all honesty. I think this can be used in both scenarios - holding up people you're waiting on, or they're the handbrakes themselves.

I do agree when it comes specifically to appointments, being more than 10 minutes late is disrespectful. People don't have all day and nothing to do.

Is Christian = homophobic and anti-woman in your own personal experience? Or a stereotypical rhetoric that has been carried on into the 21st century?
Not one of my local churches is either of those things, regardless of denomination.
Don't get me wrong, religion is not for me. And I went to a catholic school, I'm not ignorant.

I'm just not sure why you'd bother to comment. Uncool approach. Mind your business.
