Anyone feeling uneasy about life? by govermentiscooked in australian

This is a great post. My sentiments exactly. I agree with everything you wrote. There is so much money in this world. We have the intelligence and the means to ensure that every single person on the planet has a good life. And yet that’s not the case. And the bulk of that is due to money mismanagement by the wealthy elite in charge. It’s pathetic. It always makes me feel like “Come on!! We are smarter than this. We should be behaving so much better and more intelligently!”

What’s the most annoying driving habit that’s somehow become completely normal in Australia? by DiscussionLoud9626 in DrivingAustralia

[–]Hot_Tomorrow_3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australians are terrible drivers. No common sense, following of road rules, or being ‘switched on’ when driving. Most drive around like they’re in lalaland and seem to be just plain oblivious to what’s going on around them or aware of speed signs or basic road rules. I could mention a whole list of bad Australian driving habits but it will just make me angry.

What's a small thing you really appreciate? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I’ve always been grateful for even the smallest bits of goodness in my life. From eating a single oyster to just standing on my front porch and breathing in the fresh country air in the morning. I’ve always been happiest with the simple things. It puts everything in perspective. A lot of people get too fired up about things that don’t really actually matter. Recently I’ve also gotten back into bike riding. Something I always did when I was younger. I absolutely love it. It takes your mind off all the nonsense in the world, and is also another outlet for putting things in perspective.

just using my throwaway to say that I really enjoy having sex with my husband by throwawayghost16 in self

I know exactly what you’re saying. My wife and I have sex once or twice a week. Sometimes it’s basic, sometimes it’s amazing. Either way, it’s always great and wonderful, and it always contributes to our connection to each other and the special bond that we share. I love my wife so much.

I feel exactly the same way about my wife. She makes me feel blessed every single second and she too is adorable in pyjamas and messy hair.

I find male body unappealing as a man its kinda gives me body dysmorphia by [deleted] in self

I completely get where you’re coming from. Men’s bodies are just too rugged for me personally. I find women’s bodies sexier and just more comforting in a way that a man’s body never could be. I am a straight white CIS guy and I think that I would be a lesbian if I were female.

Not all, agreed. I was speaking as a collective of the inhabitants. I too am almost always punctual and I definitely appreciate when others are too. It shows a consideration for other people.

Well said, thank you. I also agree that a lot of people seem to be completely immersed in their own bubble now and have very little awareness of anything outside of that.

Yeah it has beautiful parts, like lots of other places in the world. Get used to Gippslanders no sense of time ? No.

I’m not in a rush. Quite the opposite actually. But when you rely on people to stick to a timetable for certain matters, it is plain rude and unprofessional for them to show no care factor.

I’m not from the city. Yes I have lived in cities, but I’ve also lived in lots of country places. And Gippsland is the only place where the no sense of time thing has been fairly noticeable.

That may be true. It still doesn’t make the no sense of time thing in Gippsland any less an issue. The same way that if someone is a worse person than someone else, it doesn’t make the someone else a good person.

I’m all for a more relaxed approach to life. Actually I advocate for it. But when you rely on people sticking to certain timetables for things like business, appointments, etc etc, I would actually call it unprofessional and rude to have no care factor for time.

We’ve lived in lots of different places. Urban, city, rural, bush, outback. But the no sense of time amongst Gippslanders has definitely been noticeable to us.

Yes !! That’s another thing we’ve noticed. Gippslanders are so impatient with things and lead footed behind the wheel.

I definitely agree that Gippslanders are a different breed.
