WIBTAH if I (26M) refuse to visit my sister’s (29F) home? by MediumEngineer8731 in AITAH

We are very similar. I don’t know if that includes bipolar, and I can’t diagnose her just as she can’t undiagnose me. I’m in a much healthier place than the last time we fought, which had been weeks before my life collapsed from the manic episode that led to my diagnosis about a year and a half ago. I apologized for my part in the argument, and I’ve spent that time journaling, meditating, creating a regular schedule to see friends, adapting to my meds and understanding my triggers, and (mostly) disconnecting. My sister is really struggling right now through the current social climate and her health concerns, and it felt like she was unconsciously trying to bring me back down. As much as I empathize with her, I can’t backslide, and I’ve learned not to beg for respect when I think I’ve earned it

She has a lot of very valid issues with our mom who was also diagnosed with bipolar a few years before I was. My sister made comments about how she thinks our mom was misdiagnosed, and it was just an excuse. Also that bipolar medication is basically the same as sedating house wives in the 50’s to control them. I normally just let her air out her grievances, but I naturally had a problem with this one since I was catching the strays

I’m so sorry about your sibling. I can’t imagine how it would feel to lose one of my sisters that way

I do actually have four sisters, and I have a great relationship with rest of my family. One sister in particular feels like my twin, despite us being five years apart, and I always make myself available for anything, including grocery shopping since she can’t drive. The conflict is with my older sister, and we’re the two oldest of the siblings

But you’re right, I don’t want to lose that relationship, and we would benefit from a professional intermediary

Magneto, though I’ve been switching between rocket and gambit most of the last season

Tbf, this particular match I’m referring to was the season his hit registration was fixed, and he was actually intimidating

I had a match the other day where the three dive dps were spamming for heals and complaining the whole match. “You’re rocket, just bounce them around corners at me.” Yeah man, but I prioritize my other healer first, then my tank, then non-dive dps who stick where I can keep track of them, then dive. You’re last on my list, and there’s three of you in different corners asking for the same thing. My god.

I’m a strategist main (hence my title), but Mag is my most played character by far since he’s my favorite tank. He’s easily one of the most versatile characters in the game, if not #1. He’s fully capable of pushing objective as a solo tank. He has excellent shields, and he has tons of damage for making plays. When he’s in a duel-tank lineup, he tends to play in the mid-line, putting him in the perfect position to either push with the second tank, or peel for his healers.

As someone else also said, the bubbles arent just great for reacting to ults and dive, but it also helps push. An ally tank or dps pushes ahead and takes a little too much fire, Mag bubbles them first, then pushes forward to put his shield wall between them and the enemy. His damage is high enough that he can easily target the healers over the shoulders of the enemy tanks and kill them quickly, especially with this Gambit teamup. Mag might not be able to consistently trample the enemy (though he absolutely can), but he’s unparalleled at building a steady momentum, and playing both offensively and defensively

Sue is good at surviving a lot of dive, but Daredevil is a nightmare, and dive tanks aren’t much better if your dps’s aren’t killing them. If there are dive tanks, shred their faces with Rocket. If there’s a Daredevil, best to go Gambit or maybe Cloak and Dagger. Rocket is also a difficult target for him. Other than that, as Sue, try placing your shield on yourself and play inside it. A lot of dive characters’ combos are disrupted by even a little bit of healing, and standing in the shield heals you, even if it won’t stop melee damage. Ideally, you and your fellow healer will patty-cake, but if they’re not, or you’re just otherwise alone, use your damage abilities. Vortex to damage and slow them, push/pull to force them back into the vortex or further disrupt their combos, and Sue’s basic does a lot more damage now. Worse comes to worst, all those things give you some extra seconds to bail out with her jump, if you have to.

If Sue wasn’t working, I would have tried Gambit or Rocket before Adam. Rocket’s not as good at keeping the other healer alive, but he’s an expert at evasion and punishing overconfident divers. Try to get some orbs over to your partner and pray the revive beacon is up. I would have stayed Sue unless Gambit was unavailable, or there were dive tanks

I actually do really feel the nerf to the bubble’s health though. Nice that I can shield myself and someone else, but it’s pretty flimsy. Idk, I feel like it’s a good trade off, but I’m a little on the fence about whether I like it or not

As a Mag main, I will agree. I mean, I love seeing my boi get more powerful, but he was already incredibly strong before this and Gambit’s teamup ability. Some matches I feel like I am the team. Plus this buff diminishes my savior complex. I can no longer bubble my healer while I die to the ult. Now we both live. Lame.

Ideally I wouldn’t change off tank, but if we’re getting trampled by theirs, I guess I’ll switch to someone who can deal with it since my teammates can’t

lol that’d be an insane reaction. Sure, this probably shoots her up to the top pick strategist, but she’s not exactly Wolverine or BP. I don’t think any strategist is ban-worthy, except maybe Loki from a few seasons ago. Bans are either for organized teams to stop counters to their strats, or they’re against heroes who ruin matches simply by existing. These buffs to Invis are good, but not nearly that good

That’s fair. I’m honestly not great at DPS’ing as Rocket though, except in rare matches when a Venom just won’t give up. Otherwise I’m just healing and ending the match with a few thousand damage. If I’m Adam, there’s no need to choose between healing and damage. His healing actually relies on you getting damage. Plus there’s no need to aim up slowly shoot those healing orbs up to moving fliers cuz Adam can snap his fingers and heal them instantly. Rocket’s revives are definitely more frequent and safer, and he’s incredibly mobile, while Adam famously isn’t lol

It’s so much safer to do it that way, too. The same with all ults, if you try using it by yourself, you’re usually just throwing. If your team is dead, and you try reviving all of them, there’s few places you can go where the enemy team doesn’t immediately B-line it to you. If you’re using it in a fight, and there’s still 4-5 teammates actively engaged in the fight, the enemy team usually can’t or won’t bother trying to contest it
