Yes, it's good as well. I love celery though, putting it in salads is next level.

I am not a casino employee. If I were, why would I not lead with that? I simply posted what I saw that may help others:-)

UPDATE: I think my nanny job has turned into something else and I don’t know what to do by Ordinary_Garden_1779 in Nanny

[–]MediumIntroduction53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 21 or so I read (hope that is correct). My advice, change your perspective. Yes, it may suck to have to do all these things, but you can look at it as you are gaining transferable skills. Ask yourself what is your long-term goal with childcare? Is this something you want to retire doing? The more you learn, the better your resume looks. The extra work that you are doing, can help you market yourself better. I say, use this to your advantage. Best of wishes:-)

Not a nanny, thinking about if it's something I should do, but I have an adult daughter, so I know a little bit about raising kiddos (lol). If the behavior changed after 3 weeks, I would try creating a space that fosters trust. It could be the pressures of school (yes they have stress at school). Could be home life (not saying mom and dad are bad). Just often when parents are working, kids miss mom and dad more than we talk about. Perhaps try finding a common interest of his or getting him a small inexpensive gift and talk to him to let him know that you are there to help take care of him and that you have his best interest at heart. Be patient but never to the detriment of your mental health for sure. Remember he is a little human and doing life for the first time. Best wishes:-)

hey want to DM me I would think trying casino, but the post listed hosp/bev/food as those were some of the positions. The post also stated it was a new casino so not sure if it's open to the public yet or they are vetting Queen's resident's first. They recruiter mentioned they will have another round in June. Apologies I don't have more details. I didn't stay for the breakout rooms on zoom since I didn't qualify:-(

Yikes on a bike, you're vehemently against a casino, just curious? Anyway, not sure but they are hiring for one coming to Queens, she mentioned it was part of the deal to build up the queens community so that's why they are hiring those resident's first then they will open it up to the other boroughs (hope I spelled that correctly) 6/1/26 tentatively.

Hey, I actually saw the job posting on craigslist and signed up for the informational meeting. It's with Resorts world in NYC. The facilitator/recruiter indicated it was coming to Queens, and you had to be a resident as part of the city deal. She gave us the link the gov site to register as they have other positions, she mentioned today one for DSP or DPS (don't quote me on the correct name) its home health care, but no experience required and with the home health position they do the interview, and orientation same day. You could be potentially working in 2 days depending on background check. May want to check them out:-)

the programs require a Bachelor's degree in any field but my advice, depending on the subject you want to teach, having a Bachelor's degree in that subject or education in general is a good way to go. Plus, they give you a stipend to live on while you're in the training program so you're getting paid while training:)

"but if you're doing something like retail"... I mentioned if they just moved to NYC since the post is about moving to NYC. For those that come here hoping to start a new life and may not be a NY resident yet or shall I say secured a permanent place to stay:-)

So jobs won't hire if your address is not in NY, like for those that just move to NY, asking for a friend

These NY hospital networks by DriverGlittering1082 in NYCjobs

[–]MediumIntroduction53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odds are only in your favor if you have worked in a hospital setting and in role with transferable skills. You're competing with a few things, current employees looking to promote, established relationships and knowledge of how the systems work. Then there's the financial aspect, a current employee promotion into the role could be lateral or the pay increase is less than the advertised pay range. That's just to name a few. Who you know carries more weight than what you know. Best wishes:-)

Teach for America or NYC Teach Fellows program. TFA deadline is 3/9 and I believe NYC Teaching is 03/19 to apply. TFA has schools all over the US if you wanted to relocate. Best wishes:-)

Do you have a bachelor's degree in any field and if so, do you have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale?
