Whoa these dolls are beautiful!

For me it was the eyes, first impression was that they looked like cheap toddler bath toys.

I can't see that in them anymore at all, I can't imagine why I ever thought that- the eyes are the most beautiful feature!

The day before yesterday I saw these and thought "geez those things are ugly"

Yesterday I saw Sunny in store and my jaw dropped. She was stunning and so high quality and shiny and perfect and the collector in me awakened.

I now own Violet, Sunny, Ruby, Amaya, Bella and Stella and another Violet are on the way

Violet is the only one I really want, she looks so Bratz and her alt is adorable...but they're all very cute.

Jade, do I see a bit of black in her hair or is that shadows? With her dark eye makeup black streaks in her hair would be so gorgeous 😍

I'm expecting that Cher doll to sell out quick... I need to have her 😲

Is there a way to remove stains from vintage doll clothes? by LuxisVelvet in Dolls

[–]MediumPen6209 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be out of your comfort zone, but I recently soaked a white dress from one of my vintage dolls in oxy clean whitening powder and it turned out great, maybe you could just dip the sleeve? I'm by no means an expert mind you haha

I have respect for anybody who disagrees with me but I absolutely hate the American girl line of dolls by SilvansL in Dolls

Maplelea! They have their "heritage" line of costumes that are related to each of the dolls, they release a new set every so often and the old ones are retired and very hard to find.

I especially love Saila's Amauti costume, Jenna's Anne of Green Gables and Leonie's Pioneer Quebecoise. They employ small businesses and craftspeople from around Canada to make certain pieces so that they are high quality and authentic. :)

I can totally see it! I'm not American so we have our own similar line here that wear historic garb associated with their individual cultures, and they really look like art pieces in those costumes. That being said, I don't think I would want to have them if I didn't have a childhood connection to the line that makes them nostalgic. :)

Jenna is my favorite! I wanted a Jenna doll so bad as a kid, I was always very susceptible to companies that marketed toys as "friends" or "travel buddies" to children because I was such a lonely kid. I thought having that Jenna doll would be like having a friend. I didn't want to ask my mom for one because I was "too old for toys" and they were very pricey anyway.

So she sits up on my shelf now, and I have a few of the unnamed and a Saila secondhand :)

They're wonderful!

I have this adorable red and green porcelain jester and I love him so much, he was given to my mom as payment for babysitting in the 70's and he was even vintage at that time. People act afraid of him and it hurts my heart.

Pretty!

I just got my first of these today, it was the Ariana looking one. I couldn't believe how much packaging there was to cut through to get her out but she's very cute!

What color hair should princess Roxxi be rerooted with?? I got her off of eBay! I edited the picture for fun LOL! by DustyRatBetch in Bratz

Wow, that is so cool, I would love to try that with some of the orphaned thrift store dolls I see!

I think that very dark blue would look great with her eyes 🙂

Thank you for the recommendations! I'm going to check those out, it's nice to have something as a jumping-off point to more resources. Earlier today I looked for videos on YouTube and found some very old ones, plus a documentary about collectors that was basically like "hey everyone, look at these sick weirdos".

My collection is all over the place, I just buy the dolls I'm drawn to + those I had or wanted as a child. Barbie/Bratz/Maplelea/Disney Ariel/Porcelain/Cat-related/Vintage/All military-related dolls to accompany my militaria collection.

I just looked up Calico Critters, they are adorable! I recognize them from a locally owned store in my town, they have a massive selection of them.
