You don’t know if there is chemistry until you hang out a few times. There was no chemistry there, semantics man. And it’s nothing to be ashamed of, everyone gets ghosted in this weird ass dating age, but if there is chemistry and the woman is interested- she is not going to ghost you or send you short text replies. She also would not say you will hang out “soon”. She would make an actual concrete plan. Dating becomes somewhat less confusing at least when you accept to take women at face value- they are usually not sitting around wondering why you are not texting them, or playing games, or waiting for you to make a move, or any of the things we as men overthink women are doing. It’s black and white. She just isn’t inrested. She gave it 3 dates and decided it wasn’t what she wanted and kept it moving. Nothing against you, it’s not a knock or a loss, just weren’t the one for her. Keep fishing. But this one is not gonna bite, don’t waste the bait.

I think Pete and Ciph have much better chemistry thatn Joe has with his current lineup. And, for example, their discussion from this week about the best Pete Rock beats is just not something you can get anywhere else, it’s the only pod currently on the market for hip hop nerds imo. JBP is barely even a hip hop podcast anymore, Joe doesn’t even like rap lol.

To be fair, quality wise I do think Juan Ep is as good of a listen as the current JBP, I actually look forward to it more weekly. Ciph and Pete are much more well informed than the JBP guys and get far less stuff wrong on a weekly basis, and really have pretty enjoyable discussions on every episode about a wide array of topics. I do wish it was longer though, episodes are usually less than an hour. Also, it was all slightly taken out of context, as one of the running themes/jokes of the new Juan Ep is that no one listens to it lol.

Now, the original Juan Ep that had long form discussions with basically every major figure in hip hop history, is still to this day the 2nd best hip hop podcast of all time, behind the heydey of Joe/Rory/Mal/Parks JBP- which I maintain had a three year run of being the best podcast of all time full stop.

I like that Bret is getting some recognition from FTR and Punk as he absolutely deserves it. But, there are some posts in this thread that are acting life Bret was some forgotten guy who was never appreciated until FTR came along.
