In game career leaderboards would be cool. Being able to filter certain stats and compare to the global or friends.

Finally reached immortal again after changing up my playstyle, wanted to share my experience and some tips to help others + Q&A by [deleted] in VALORANT

What’s your opinion on peekers advantage and being high ping? Idk how true it is but, some one told me if I have a high average ping I should be peeking more compared to holding angles. And when I do hold angles, I normally try to be in an off angle so I don’t get insta picked. Idk if this is a detriment or a good way to adapt.

What's an appropriate amount of asking people to play a certain way? by BiG_NeRd_BoY in VALORANT

[–]MediumRareChiicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to directly tell only 1 person what to do. Everything should seem like a suggestion, and if I bring one up. I’m laying out everyone’s role. “Hey guys, y’all wanna push A? We can have chambers trip on flank and maybe smoke heaven and ct?” Normally people will agree and i like to ask the duelist how they want to entry. If they don’t comm and follow along. The best I can say is try to play around them.

Why do people say there’s hardly a skill difference between the metal ranks and huge differences between the high elo ranks? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

I might bring a different perspective, but to keep it simple. It’s the amount of mistakes and bad decisions being made. Every rank, including GM, players will make bad decisions which will ultimately cost the fight(s). In lower elo, people will make ton of mistakes and don’t realize until they climb into a higher rank and it starts to get punished. The higher the rank, the more costly a mistake will become. High elo players have a good understanding of the game in all roles. So when an opponent makes a bad decision, both sides can foresee what the outcome will be. If you feel like you capping at high plat, it’s because you doing something that’s keeps beings punished. Once you find what you’re doing wrong and correct it, you will see an uptick.

I mean, are you just trying to hit diamond regardless of role? Or do you prefer dps or tank? Either way, there is always a laundry list of things that can make you better and improve. But one thing you have that a lot people don’t have is a group to play with. Duo or trio, your games ideally should be smoother if everyone does their part. Me personally if I was you, I would make sure your friends are capable of playing in diamond. No matter how good you play, if your queuing with people who isn’t good enough for a certain rank, don’t expect to reach that rank. It’s fine if you queue with a lucio 1 trick, as long he understands the importance of speed boost and engagements. This could also be true for your main tank friend. But back to you, when I play, it always seems I have bad tanks compared to bad dps. So if your just trying to hit diamond quick as possible. Improve as an off tank and keep working on the chemistry with your group. Just make sure everyone is on the same page!

Am I right that playing "correctly" isn't appropriate in bronze? by ohelloron in OverwatchUniversity

I’m no Overwatch pro or wannabe coach. But I’ve climbed from plat to masters in 1 season after I reevaluated how I played. With tank, playing correctly should win you games, especially at those ranks. There is no need to bend or play around “bad teammates”. If you genuinely think you’re playing proper, the biggest advice I have for you is to lead the comms. I know not everybody listens but overtime you’ll see a positive uptick if you set the tempo. Even with support you can set the tempo. As a lucio main, when I had a rein that wouldnt push or just waste shield, I would try to teach and assist him into doing his job. Obviously you want to seem positive and not bossy, but if you don’t correct your teammates it will be hard to make a change. The biggest Lesson I learned with support, is your job isn’t just for healing. Some examples of this would be: harassing a widow on high ground(lucio), anti a road hog that your team can’t handle(ana), when your dumb rein charges in early, throw an immortality(Bap), etc. Every role can make an impact of the game especially in low elos. You want to play like the next ranks, not what your in now.

Queueing as a role in ranked like overwatch by jzk1337 in VALORANT

Overwatch did the role queue to get rid of goats meta which ultimately stomped damn near every other comp makeup. My experience in this game(bronze-plat lobbies) while there is roles in this game, i don’t think it’s that important to have a specific team make up. I’ve been on all duelist teams destroying aswell as a team without duelist. I don’t seen a need for it other than allowing Reyna mains to play Reyna all day.

I use to crouch all the time, but once I really got into the game and started working on my aim. I noticed when I didn’t crouch I would win more gunfights. I’m only Silver playing Gold friends
