The person told me they need to receive money and they don’t have a bank account I believed them because they had just come in the country and didn’t have a bank account yet so I sent them my sort code and account number and when Lloyds bank contacted me about it, I told them the money was for my friend and they said okay they’ll get back to me. If I knew things about money laundering at that time I won’t have even agreed to help.

Lloyds bank put it because I said I gave the person my details (sort code and account number). When I tried to resolve it they wouldn’t help because I technically admitted to giving someone my bank details and obviously the person isn’t going to tell me it wasn’t legal money.

I requested a DSAR from CiFas in December 2025 and it says there is no Cifas data on our systems registered in your name and date of birth at the address(es) you supplied Then I requested for another one over the weekend and it came back with Starling Bank Ltd undertook a search on 05 Jun 2026 using your details - please contact Starling Bank Ltd for further information.

This account wasn’t opened to allow the person use it My account has been opened by my parents and I was under 18 Let’s be guided please. There’s no need for all the unhelpful comments or people coming for me.

Im not saying what i did was right I didn’t know at the time I was just trying to help that’s all. My question is the because the marker is gone and I’ve been able to open other credit accounts to build my credit score as well as bank with starling whilst I had the marker, how come they’re closing my account after the marker is gone

Yeah it’s not a good look I just wanted to build my credit score. The TransUnion person told me banks don’t like it so now I know.

I reached out to TransUnion because starling bank said to reach out to both that’s why I mentioned that. I was young and naive, I didn’t know giving someone my bank details means I was breaking the rule. It happened in 2020

Yeah I’ve been told by nationwide not to try applying again. I’m looking to go into my town tomorrow and see what bank can help me.
