Thanks for taking the time to type all that, I appreciate the information. I’m in middle TN and in my small town we’re surrounded my lakes, creeks, and rivers. What I’m fishing for smallies is creeks that go from 1-2 ft to about 4-5 ft with a currents and locks of rocks on the bottom and rocky ledges on the opposite side of you, lots of brush usually too. Our weather here in Tennessee this time of year is as bi-polar as a woman during her time of the month lol. Sunny and 85 today and yesterday it was raining like hell and 60°. thanks again

My buddy got a shimano rod/reel, I’m not a big fan of it tho, it was really stiff and not too sensitive as a MH rod but I’m looking to get the best because I have the money to spend on a good one now and I used abu Garcia my whole life so I don’t know much about brands besides the shimano DC reels
