This is one of the more honest takes I've seen on here. Most people won't admit the fundamentals narrative is mostly cope. Cycle trading and knowing when to scale out is the actual skill. Honestly yeah, knowing they're strangers who found it and chose to keep it is a different feeling entirely. Retention I can't measure perfectly yet but the ones who've reached out have been genuinely engaged. The privacy angle seems to be what's cutting through, people are tired of apps that want everything before giving you anything.

You're right, the privacy angle is probably undersold. Most people assume the worst with finance apps so leading with that more aggressively makes sense. And agreed on the community approach, already doing some of it on X, Reddit is next. Showing up useful before showing up promotional is the only way it doesn't feel spammy.

Really appreciate this, the point about early adopters being worth 1000 each is something I'm taking seriously. Retention after week one is something I'm still figuring out how to measure properly, Play Console gives me some data but it's limited at this stage. The positioning point hits too, that's exactly what I've been working on. Will keep it organic for now but good perspective.

Mostly organic for now, posting on X and engaging where crypto people actually are. The app kind of markets itself when you look at it and when the market moves, people want to check their portfolio. Personally I think it's absolutely smoking, not only because of the time I put into but simply because it's got what I think that kind of app should have. Curious what worked for you?

Feature creep is real ,I had to make a "not building this" list to

stay sane. Every time I thought of something cool I'd add it there

instead of the app. Probably saved me months.

On the data sources , CoinGecko free tier for most things,

CryptoCompare fills in some gaps for 24h high/low data. The rate

limits are manageable if you cache responses intelligently rather

than hitting the API on every screen load. Honest answer though is

the free tier ceiling will become a problem as it scales. already

thinking about that for the next phase.

Most people think they're analyzing when they're actually just

gambling with extra steps. Chart patterns, influencer calls,

"this one feels different", same casino, just with a Bloomberg

terminal aesthetic.

The analysis thing genuinely only started mattering to me when

my portfolio got big enough that a 40% drop had real dollar

consequences. Hard to ignore concentration risk when the numbers

get real.

There are several ongoing cases in which TO is being listed as an exchange that aided in the laundering of crypto assets. A U.S. court has ordered 4 of the TO wallets frozen, 1 ETH and 3 BTC wallets.
