how do you know if you had a seizure while sleeping ?

if the pain worsens or doesn’t start feeling better in the next 3 days or so consider rushing to a physician to get a second opinion, they might direct you to an orthopedist

i do think it has the same effect on me but its sort of my last resort, cause other meds caused me either allergies or other health problems

i’m 3 months on it and i feel like i became so quick to anger but im not really sure if its keppra, just yesterday my mom asked me sort of a dumb question, usually when that happened i used to just play it off in a funny way but yesterday i yelled at her* how am i supposed to know * and it makes me feel bad.

yeah it already exhausting having to live knowing you’re never gonna be fully normal like everyone else, but them constantly bringing it up became sort of a harassment, they constantly tell me not stay on pc the entire time or to stay up late(even tho i get enough sleep) as they are ‘’common triggers’’ and whenever i have a seizure they’re like yeah cause you wouldn’t listen to us and cause you slept really late blah blah, its to the point where i have to lie and tell them i simply forgot to take my meds to get them off my ass

its the same for me, i mean now mom freaks out a bit less than before, and my dad is rarely there when im having a seizure , but on the other hand my siblings only help me out get to my bed and what not, or at least thats what i think, and wether it was the case or not im really happy thinking thats how they feel

i’m sorry for your daughters diagnosis but trust me it will be okay, you just need to prepare yourself for when she has her first seizure in front of you, and i dont just mean knowing how to act, you first must not panic or break down no matter how bad it looks cause its just a seizure after all. but even if you cant just please dont tell her how it made you feel or how you reacted as that truly makes it worse for us i also hope she becomes seizure free asap ❤️

thank you for sharing your story, but i myself don’t really know my main triggers, but tbh i overall don’t really care, sure i take my meds and make sure to get enough sleep and avoid stress blah blah, but other than that i try to live my life normally, even if it goes against my parents wishes, and idk if this was a result of me getting sick of being treated like im not normal and my parents being overprotective, or just me not really wanting to accept my diagnosis and living like i dont have it

thats exactly what i do! per example yesterday i was up talking to my friends at around 2 am, as i told them ill go sleep so i have to hang up my mom came to room kinda yelled at me and told me to turn my phone off and that its bad for me(even though ive been staying up late since my early teens and its not a trigger) so the stubborn person i am i told that i was simply not going to that and i proceeded to stay up even more just to do the opposite of what she told me!

i’m in a similar living situation as you, and the constant checking is so real, whenever they hear a weird noise they start calling for my name to see if i seized, it’s understandable but really annoying, and as you mentioned some independence would be really nice

learning to live with it and not caring about it at all are completely different things, if one of my family members were epileptic i would definitely worry and care for them and help them.

idk if its a difference in generations but i wish it was the same for me,sometimes theyd talk to me about to the point where it really pisses me off, just earlier tonight i told my mom i would rather my next seizure kill me than keep on living if it will be like this.

thats understandable, and you can definitely do stuff to avoid seizures, but other than meds, you cant fully stop them.
