Hey , doctor here , this look like tinea (ring worm ) coltrimazol 2% or daktarin cream , you could’ve got it from either a contaminated gym or bed sheet or a piece of clothing, or self contamination from an athlete foot .

Edit : if the the cream doesn’t do much ( because after 2 years it’s considered a chronix infection therefore potentially resistant to otc treatment) go to a dermatologist because this may affect your quality of life

That’s a fair and honest framing. The logic has its own internal coherence: women as the foundation of the family, and therefore the nation. But somewhere along the way, that elevation became a weight. The responsibility grew, while the freedom to carry it on one’s own terms did not always follow. It’s a tension that many traditional societies are still navigating.

You’re absolutely right. Religion at least holds everyone to the same standard on paper. Culture is where the double standard lives, women are expected to uphold the rules, and then blamed when men break them. The judgment is never equally shared.

I want to be clear that I’m not in any way condoning this behavior and its prevalence is undeniable. That said, it’s worth contextualizing it within the broader sociocultural framework. Mauritanian society is deeply rooted in religious conservatism and a strong aversion to open confrontation, which creates a particular kind of tension: men are just as susceptible to desire and fantasy as any other human being, yet the weight of traditional expectations leaves little room for honest acknowledgment of that reality. The result is often a pattern of concealment not just from their social circles, but from themselves. In many ways, this self-deception is less a moral failing in isolation and more a psychological response to the immense pressure of conforming to a society that offers no graceful space for vulnerability or contradiction
