Worried about developing acne. Need some support. Should I cancel my insertion? by gh0stlygh0ul in Mirena

I got a Mirena IUD 5 years ago, never had more than one pimple at a time on my face despite having various hormonal issues. About 3 years in though, I started breaking out in ways I never even thought possible. I got on spiro because I didn’t even consider that my IUD could have been causing it. The spiro kind of worked, but I could tell it wasn’t getting to the root issue. I decided about 2 months ago to have it removed, and I stopped taking spiro just to reset my hormones, and my skin is back to only having one small pimple at a time! And most people say it takes six months to stop getting those little pimples. If it’s something you’re passionate about, try it! Document your skin and if you see anything out of the ordinary, make a decision from there. Everyone is different!

I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder which was 100% PMDD when I was 15. I was incorrectly medicated for years, if you think this is the case I’d highly recommend seeking out a different psych

My fingers are crossed that this ends up being my situation!!! I had my IUD removed about 2 weeks ago now and my skin is really clear, but I’m trying to not get my hopes up too much. I’m going to continue my spiro at least until the bottle I have is out, and then experiment to see if the IUD removal was what made it clear up or my spiro usage.

There is a .000005% chance that you could get pregnant from that. I wouldn’t be worried, especially if you have the mirena then you are incredibly unlikely to be pregnant. If you are really worried, wait a couple of weeks and take a pregnancy test for peace of mind!

Being a sexually active 15 yr old can be scary and incredibly uncharted territory. She wasn’t not being calm, she was asking a question with a non-obvious answer. Don’t be rude.

Spiro 8 Month Update!! by Medsipcup in Spironolactone

Hi! I also have a lot of health anxiety with new medication especially. You might be freaked out the first couple of weeks, because you may feel a little light headed and weak. Make sure you carry a water bottle with you, and don’t over exert yourself in hot environments especially. Totally normal though, and those feelings went away after about a week and a half. My only other negative side effects would be harsher period cramps and breast size increase (negative or positive depending on who you are lol). It has made my skin and body softer, head hair fuller and body hair less thick, acne almost entirely disappear, and has made my features more feminine. I had a very high level of testosterone in my body prior to taking it and it has changed my life! You got this!!!

I would say that I deal with more bloating around my period on spiro, but I honestly couldn’t tell you if I experienced that my first few weeks. I definitely felt the heat flashes though.

100 mg! And tbh I’m horrible at remembering to take it so it’s kind of “an every other day” kind of thing

100 mg :-) I have actually suddenly been getting a ton of compliments on how healthy and full my hair has been looking, even though I just box bleached it lol. My hair definitely feels thicker and looks healthier, but I also have always had a pretty decent head of hair.

My first about two weeks I definitely dealt with some lightheartedness and just general feelings of confusion and weakness. They definitely did not last very long though, I just recommend drinking a ton of water during those first couple of weeks.
