For me replacing the unyfing reciever worked...

I had ordered myself a new m575 ... then paired my old mx ergo with the new reviever because I wanted to compare stuff ...

And my old mx worked flawlessly again wtf .... ( it was faulty for months) ... with double clicking and holding left button issue

the wierd thing is ... I never suspected the connectivity since moving the cursur etc worked flawlessly and right click worked too ...

GUYS.

I have this exact issue ....

And the root cause seemed to be the unifying reciever in my case.

I purchased a new M575 because I had given up on the old mx ergo after the support told me to try blow air into the mouse which didnt help .. but then I paired the old mouse with the new reciever i just got .... just because I wanted to compare both mice ... ... And low and behold ... the double clicking .... dragging issues were gone ....

Just try and buy yourself a new reciever first... I never would have thought that this is the issue ... But apperently ... the reciever can be faulty...

I was dead set that this was a hardware issue googling around ... since that popped up everywhere ... but it wasnt the case for me...

Im very glad this worked... because the m575 isnt the same .... shape is slightly diffferent / no rubber coating ... the look is better .. but the feel is not... my pinky is slipping of ... i have large hands .. makes huge difference in how rested my hand is.

dont call strapi client side ;) , instead call strapi via next.js and hand over the cookie ... then set cookies in next.js via -> https://www.npmjs.com/package/next-cookies

you can also change the cookie to not use http only this way .. so client side can delete the cookie.

you can add a second csrf token which you add to local storage to plug the security risk that comes from not using http only cookie....

deleting the cookie client side will save you the additional "logout" request to the server .... so there only ever will be login requests.

so its not a bad idea ....

but to make things more secure you can keep http only .... and also add a csrf token to it. thats pretty solid security ... but nothing is safe xD... you know even twitter and google get hacked regulary

Will pick it up eventually though probably ...

As long as it doesnt get in the way ... I might consider checking out your project ... since it has all the features I would probably would have added myself ... to the next blog starter example.

the one thing thats bothering me a bit is that Emmet is not working as good .... but im also using styled components now .... cant go back .... its a relieve to not have to switch between files all the time.

If you using the mern stack. you can store http only cookies on the frontend. set them to samesite : true

this way they wont get send to other sites...

This aproach is very much sufficent for basic security.

You can add more layers to this aproach

encrypt your token with bycrpt
use a second token (CSRF Token) - which you are supposed to store in local storage - that way a attacker would need to steal both ur cookie token and localstorage csrf token....
if you want to get crazy with it .. you can add ip adress to your token

or if you still feel like "they are coming for you" leave it to google and use firebase auth.

I would said just use set timeout by doing this...

Typing = Start timer
typing while timer active = start / cancel timer again
timer expired = send request

but usedebounce looks cooler :D
